I hope everyone had a very happy holiday yesterday with family and friends. Charles & I spent Christmas even in New Jersey with about 35 of his cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family. We do this most years but this year was extra special because my parents joined us from Virginia for the festivities!
what I wore: lace dress / necklace
Charles & I decided it would be best not to travel this year for the holidays so it was awesome for everyone to come to us to share the Christmas love. It was also great to host Christmas in our new home for the first time.
We started out Christmas morning in the usual fashion –
Santa came.
We went to church.
And we scratched off some lottery tickets.
A McDermott family tradition – we do it every year, Santa leaves them in our stockings and it’s always a fun way to start off the day! This year, my dad was the big winner – he won $22! I won $1.
I use the words “we hosted our first Christmas” loosely because my mom came up from Virginia and brought all the food and pretty much prepared everything too. We had lots of help from everyone of our guests but it was really great to share our new home for the holidays.
All in all it was a beautiful day. Everything was tasty, delicious and Santa knew that we were extra good this year! It was crazy to think that this is our last Christmas as a family of 2.5 {including Jackson} and what’s even crazier to think about is that this time next year we will have a little guy running {wobbling?} around!
I hope your holidays were as wonderful as ours! We are off to enjoy some quality, relaxing time together & soak in the last few days of 2013!
Happy Holidays!
