Since I have been unable to get my monthly Stitch Fixes { I took a break from them since my growing belly was getting in the way of trying on “real” clothes – check out my last Fix here} my mom mentioned to me that she was interested in signing up to give Stitch Fix a try. She lives in Northern Virginia and since I live in Philadelphia, I told her she had to make sure her Fix was scheduled when we were together – so I could see {and document on the blog!} what she got!
My mom was totally game to be my next Stitch Fix model – {my friend Aileen & my mother-in-law had previously joined me in sharing their Fixes on the blog} – so we scheduled her first Stitch Fix to arrive when she would be up in Philadelphia visiting for my NJ/PA Baby shower.
It arrived right on time & she couldn’t wait to check out what was sent for her to try!
When my mom scheduled her first Stitch Fix, she told the stylist that she was a 60-something year old woman who was looking for some casual work attire and also some fun pieces she could easily dress up or down. Since we were scheduling the Fix the weekend of my Baby Shower, she also mentioned she would like to be sent something blue as a potential outfit to wear to the shower.
Now it’s been almost 6 months since my last fix, so I was also excited to see if Stitch Fix was up to anything new & it turns out they re-worked their style cards, which now come in this cool booklet which fold out to this – pretty cool if you ask me.
Now, onto the clothes:

41Hawthorn – Cherise Tab Sleeve Henley {$48}
My mom’s {and my} first initial reaction about this Henley was that we loved the color. I think it is a great POP! and looks so great with her skin tone. Stitch Fix calls the color Pink, but I think it’s more of a Raspberry color – so pretty! I also just helped my mom pick out her first pair of skinny jeans {yay!} so this top, and everything else she got in this Fix goes great with them.

19 Cooper – Landon Front Pleat Short Sleeve Blouse {$48}
Another amazing top – we both love the Cobalt color and the subtle detail of the pleats. This blouse has a great shape to it and has a bit of a flow to it, while still being structured. This is a great top to dress up or down and would be so fun to pair with some statement jewelry too!

Mystree – Nadira Sequin Striped Long Sleeve Shirt {$48}
This one my mom initially wasn’t sure about but I immediately loved it {for her and for me!} I think it has a really great amount of sparkle – not too much – especially for this time of year. This long sleeve shirt is SO soft and would be fun to wear with any color bottom. I personally think it’s a great looking top!
**********************
41Hawthorn – Moni Stud Detailed 3/4 Sleeve Blouse {$48}
Does this top look familiar to you? Because I totally got the same one {in a grey/yellow pattern} in my last Stitch Fix and it is one of my all-time favorite pieces! I am obsessed with the stud detail and the light blue color – this is seriously such a great top! It was so fun for my mom to receive one in her first Fix – I think it looks amazing on her!

41Hawthorn – Kia Keyhole Bishop Sleeve Dress {$88}
Our last piece my mom got to try on was this long sleeved dress – I really like the navy color but it wasn’t my favorite piece from everything she was sent. I do think it’s a dress you can do a lot with – by pairing it with fun jewelry, a great blazer/cardigan, colorful shoes or a statement belt you can completely change it’s look. My mom said that she doesn’t own any long sleeved dresses, so this is something she was actually looking for, which is great!
A few more fun facts about my mom’s first Stitch Fix – she requested everything for her first Fix be in the $50 range – which I always suggest you do – she also requested no jewelry this time around. I think Stitch Fix did an amazing job sending my mom some great pieces – I am urging her to keep everything {because you get an extra 25% discount when you do} and because I want to borrow everything when I am no longer pregnant!
So what do YOU think about my mom’s first Stitch Fix?
What should she keep? What is your favorite piece?
Help her decide!

Keep #4! Your mom looks nice in the classic blue color and the studding adds a fun edgy element to it.
I really like #1!
I really like all of the picks – they look great on your mom!
Love the tops! The dress looks best with the belt. Hope your mom keeps everything!
So happy I tried Stitch Fix! Loved all the blouses and I agree the dress looks best with a wide belt. I’m keeping everything cause I have a daughter who will be borrowing my clothes soon! Gonna request another Stitch Fix in the future!
Um, I want all of these! I’d keep #1 and #4. Great colors!
I love them all! they did so great. all those pieces look STUNNING on her!
Hot mamma!!! She looks absolutely gorgeous in everything!!! I hope she kept all of them. I also have the pink tab sleeve blouse and love how soft it is. It looks better on her than it does on me!!
She looks great in everything but I REALLY love the first raspberry top on her!
UM EVERYTHING!!!!! she is adorable!!
They did a great job on her box. I really like #2 and am pinning that to my Stitch Fix board.
I love all of your mom’s picks. I want her box.
Thank you for your blog. I was trying to figure out if Stitch Fix was only for young people. Glad a mature mom like me received some fun age appropriate items.
Your mom looks great, and the pieces you’ve photo’ed are contemporary and fun. I want them all, glad to see this generation getting support for looking good.
