l’auberge chez francois

This past weekend Charles, Brooks & I were home in Virginia to celebrate the engagement of my brother to his now fiancé, Joan. They got engaged over the holidays and since then things have been a little crazy with the new addition to the family. We celebrated Michael & Joan with a lovely evening out at l’auberge chez francois, which is rated the best French restaurant in the DC area. Yum!

We have been here before to celebrate Charles & my engagement {we look like babies in this post!} as well as my mom’s 60th birthday. It’s one of our favorite spots to get our celebration on!

This time it was a little different as we had a special dinner guest with us – Brooks! It was a different dining experience, bringing an infant to a fancy French restaurant – but Brooks was the perfect gentleman the entire evening. I was nervous to bring him, but I pumped 2 bottles {be prepared!}, fed him before we left and crossed my fingers he didn’t have a breakdown in the middle of dinner. I thought he would pass out in his carseat for the majority of the evening, like he usually does, but as soon as we sat down at our table, he was wide awake! He just loved looking around at all the lights, and the hum of all the other patrons and the restaurant noise in general just calmed him – he was a great diner guest, and he stayed awake the entire meal, just chilling.

Here are some pictures of our dinner & group shots from the evening. It was so great to be able to come home to share in the celebrations with my family!
