Friday Favorites: {Must Have’s} for Traveling with an Infant

I know I shared with you yesterday my experience on traveling {to Disney} with an infant & to go along with that today I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite “must have’s” for traveling with a little one. These are a few of my favorite things that we took on our most recent trip that worked really well for us {and that I will be bringing with us on any future trip!}

Check out my picks and let me know what you think!

Traveling with an Infant

1- I have a serious love for this sunscreen & now keep one in my stroller & one in my diaper bag as to always have one on hand. It’s safe for little one’s under 6 months old {as per my doctor}, its UVA and UVB protection & water resistant (80 minutes), Tear free and non-allergenic and has no PABA, phthalates, parabens, fragrances or nano-particles. Winner.

2- These baby sunglasses are all sorts of awesome. Not only are they super adorable {which they are} but they are also made of 100% rubber, come with a lost & found guarantee: if lost or broken, they will be replaced, provide 100% UVA and UVB Protection and are free from BPA, phthalates, and lead-based paint. I got them in the small which is for ages 0-3. They are a tiny bit big at the moment but I love them just the same & he wears them when he’s in his stroller to protect his eyes.

3- I picked up these fun colored links before our trip and I am so glad I did. Brooks isn’t playing with too many toys at this point but he is starting to grab onto things & really likes playing with these links. We had them dangling down his stroller and they would provide endless entertainment – they were also great for attaching things to the stroller we didn’t want to get lost.

4- This changing clutch was a lifesaver in Disney. It unfolds to a very large changing pad & has a spot with pockets to hold 3-4 diapers and a small 18 pack of wipes. It was so easy to pull that out and take Brooks for a change as opposed to taking my whole diaper bag. So easy, I loved it!

5- I saw this Monkey Mat on Shark Tank and knew I had to have it. It’s a 5×5 clean, portable surface you can take with you anywhere. It is machine washable, water repellant, has corner weights & loops for grounding and tabs for toys/keys. It also folds up into an attached, compact pouch. We layer this out on the bed when Brooks would want to spread out and stretch and play on his back. It’s going to be awesome for picnics in the summer too & just when he is more mobile in general, to keep him off the gross ground.

6- Gripe Water is key & we wouldn’t travel anywhere without it. This was given to us by friends and it’s been such  lifesaver – it’s a natural herbal digestive aid for babies, to ease the discomfort due to colic, gas, hiccups and teething. It acts fast & Brooks loves the taste. This will forever have a spot in my baby travel bag.

7- We use this little Sleep Sheep during Brooks’ bedtime at home so taking it with us to keep bedtime fairly normal was a must. It was easy to pack in our bag and it was nice to play Brooks some soft music during bedtime too.

8- We just started using a pacifier clip on this trip and doing so was such a smart decision. Having the binky fall on the floor in the plane or on the ground in one of the parks would have totally grossed me out so we had this clip attached to Brooks all the time. Totally necessary for traveling, one for every soother! We also have these clips too & love them as well.

9- I took one of these bamboo swaddles for every day we were gone. They were great as burp cloths, to keep Brooks warm if it was chilly, to block the sun so he could nap in his stroller – they did everything. Plus they look nice and feel even better. I am a HUGE fan of the bamboo swaddles instead of the muslin, they are SO much softer!

    We have several of these items! I’ve been using the links on his activity bar and I was wondering about bringing them on our upcoming trips. And we have the giraffe version of the sleep sheep. Haven’t used the gripe water much but has worked a few times we had used it. I’m looking at getting the monkey mat, sunscreen, and the sunglasses. Thanks for the recommendations.
