Swimsuit season is upon us! Can you believe we are a few short days away from Memorial Day Weekend?! I can hardly believe it myself.
Having just had a baby a few months ago {15 weeks and 3 days, but who’s counting? ok, I AM!} I am still wrapping my head around the fact that I will be in a bathing suit, in front of people, in a few days. Don’t get me wrong, I feel good about how I look 3 1/2 months after giving birth – I stayed active throughout my pregnancy and am a generally healthy person overall, I am just still in the process of getting used to my new body.
My new body carried a beautiful baby boy inside my belly for 9 months, went through 25 hours of labor { which still sort of haunts me}, not to mention I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding since Brooks came to be.
aka – Holy Boobs.
With that being said, my hips are a little wider than they were pre-pregnancy, my breasts are in a totally new ballpark than they ever were, and I am still in the process of getting back into pre-baby shape. So obviously I needed a new swimsuit {or two} in my life for this bathing suit season.
Luckily, the lovely folks at Figleaves were here to help!
Figleaves.com offers 200+ designers of lingerie, swimwear, apparel, sleepwear and more – from popular designers to private labels. I have been lucky enough to test out their swimwear, as they are a retailer who offers bra-sized swim separates to ensure a perfect fit for all body types. The Figleaves cup sizes range from AA-GG, and styles include classic one-piece swimsuits, bikinis and chic tankinis.
I have been on a one-piece swimsuit kick, so I was pumped when I had the opportunity to try out one of their one-pieces from the Figleaves label -> Sophina
I picked this Icon Colour Block Panel Swimsuit because I loved the silhouette the bathing suit creates with the black and grey color blocking. I also enjoy the detachable straps and the fact that the swimsuit itself is {I think} stylish, yet sophisticated. The material it is made out of {71% Polyamide 20% Elastane} is luxury Italian fabric {via the Figleaves.com website} and it feels really nice. You can tell this bathing suit is going to keep everything in and give you a good shape, but it isn’t overly heavy – in fact, it feels super light!
{I can’t believe I posted pictures of myself in a swimsuit, via a selfie – yikes}
{{ Also, I am in desperate need of a tan!}}
I can’t wait to take this new swimsuit down the shore with me next weekend! The beach is way more fun when you feel comfortable and confident in what you are wearing & how you are feeling!

You look awesome girl! Love the suit also! 🙂
You look great!! I’m only 3 weeks post partum, and this post is inspiring! I’m still sort of dreading bathing suit shopping, but, you’re right, we should be proud of our post pregnancy bodies!
You look so good! And I love that suit! When I look for a suit I try and find something that isn’t going to fall down while having two kids hanging on me:)
This bathing suit looks fabulous on you! The design is most flattering for your middle.
