I have two words for you:
Baby. Booty.
Prepare yourself because this post features a lot of my baby’s booty! But don’t worry, it’s a cute one {in my humble opinion. And no, I’m not biased…at all..}
So when I was pregnant, I was all about the cloth diapers. Pre-baby, I didn’t really know what to expect or the logistics of how that would all work. I just knew the cloth diapers were cute and I wanted to have less diaper waste, and maybe save a few bucks too.
Fast forward to the first few weeks with a newborn and the little guy was peeing and pooping all.the.time. I feel like I wasn’t really prepared for the amount of it all. You don’t really know about the extent of the diaper changes unless you are in it as a new mom. I was using cloth diapers for a while when we were hanging out at home, using disposables when we would be out and about.
Now that we are more in a “schedule” of sorts – and I use that word very loosely because it’s a constantly changing schedule which actually isn’t much of a schedule at all – we have been having lots of luck with our new cloth diaper routine. We have been putting Brooks in a cloth diaper each night before bed. When you think about it, he’s in that last diaper of the night for around 12 hours {IF he sleeps like I know he can – fingers crossed} and I found that when he started to sleep those longer stretches, he would wake up in the morning with a crazy wet diaper and some redness & irritation from being in that wet diaper for so long.
So we have been putting the bumGenius Freetime cloth diapers on Brooks at night and they’ve done a great job at keeping him dry & happy – anything to keep my little man from waking up is amazing! And I love them because they are SO SOFT.
The Freetime cloth diapers are awesome because they come in a variety of adorable colors AND they fit {most} babies from 8-35+ pounds! They have an adjustable snap system which grows with your little one. The soft, waterproof outer fabric keeps the diaper trim on your newborn and toddler. Soft, sueded inner fabric gently wicks moisture away from your baby’s skin. Super stretchy, gentle leg and back elastic with rolled out casings keeps the yuk in and help to keep red marks away.
I have been having a great experience with using the bumGenius Freetime cloth diapers at night because 90% of the time when Brooks first wakes up in the morning, we only have a #1 situation. He saves the #2 for after breakfast {yum} which makes using the cloth diapers a little less messy for me.
Honestly, I love our little system and Brooks seems to really like it too. I like the way we have been able to merge our use of cloth & disposable diapers in a way that works for us. I like using disposables during the day because since Brooks is eating 3 meals a day, it’s a whole new world of diapers, if you know what I mean.
The lovely folks at bumGenius have offered up a Freetime cloth diaper to one lucky And Her Little Dog Too reader. If you are thinking about cloth diapering, it’s a great way to test out the diapers to see if they work for you – and make sure they fit your little one right!

So cute! Love all the blues!
I love cloth diapering my baby girl (8 months) but I’ve not tried bum genius yet. I’d like to get a cute pattern like Jules or Marie to really flaunt the fluff 🙂
The Albert print looks so much cuter on! I’d love to get that print.
I love the aqua color your little babe has on! We don’t know the sex of our little one so I feel like that color can go both ways. Can’t wait to try cloth diapers!
I would choose the Mirror color. I have 2 Freetimes and they are my absolute favorite for the diaper bag. Thanks for the giveaway!
I think I would pick the Mirror color, although I love the Albert print too.
I’d love the dazzle or zinnia. We didn’t know we were having a girl so all our diapers are neutral, would love to get a girly one in the mix!
I have quite a few and LOVE them! I could use armadillo or hummingbird to add to the collection!
I love free times! I’d like a spence.

I love the Jules and jet setter prints! So cute! We typically use 4.0 so would love to try a freetime!
Love the moonbeam & mirror colors!
I love the dazzle and mirror colors. I registered for a bunch of these for my baby shower (I’m due in February), but I’ve already determined I’m going to wait until we’re through the newborn-poo-and-pee-all-the-time stage 🙂
The Albert is adorable!
I love the Jules and Lovelace, leaning more toward Lovelace because I’m hoping my son will train soon, leaving only my daughter in diapes. We love our cloth diapers! I’m opposite of you, though- cloth during the day and disposables at night.
i love the neutral blue!
I would get a gender neutral color. I know these diapers hold up really well and can be used for a second baby too. So I would want something that I could buy (or win!) once and use again 🙂
I’d pick the pink ones for my little girl!
Oh gosh, I love how cute Brooks is in both diapers you posted in this blog. Especially the cute little genius one! I really wanted to do cloth diapers, but once my little was here, I knew it wasn’t feasible for us… I like that you have merged the two worlds and kind of want to try that too!
I’ve had my eye on the Einstein for a while. Love the blue, too!
