October 2014 Stitch Fix #14 {Review}

Time for another Stitch Fix!

I love when my Fixes arrive over the weekend & I have an extra day to take pictures to share with you on the blog & really think about what I want to keep! It’s funny how seeing yourself in photographs wearing something is way different than trying on clothes & looking at yourself in the mirror. Anyone else feel that way?

Anywho – for this Fix, I asked for comfortable, casual, Fall favorites to add to my wardrobe. I didn’t request much this time because I wanted my stylist to do her thing!

Here’s what I received in this months Fix ->

Now, onto the goods ->

Pixley Malynn Asymmetrical Soft Moto Vest {$58}Pixley Malynn Asymmetrical Soft Moto Vest

The one general thing I did ask for in this Fix was VESTS! I’m totally obsessed with them at the moment. This vest is a soft  & stretchy material, I definitely don’t have anything like it in my closet. The style card pairs it with shirts or dresses, which I think is really cool.

The one thing I don’t love about the vest is that it doesn’t have pockets! I love wearing a vest & having it be able to hold my phone & keys, which is awesome since I live in the city & we walk around everywhere. I’m pretty sad about the lack of pockets.

BUT I do like the overall shape of it & I think it’s cute open or zipped. It’s also a great material that looks pretty nice but feels very cozy – which is always a good thing!

What do you think about this vest? How would you wear it?

Market and Spruce Xander Short Sleeve Woven Back Sweatshirt {$54}

Market and Spruce Xander Short Sleeve Woven Back Sweatshirt

I’ve had such luck with all things Market & Spruce lately and I real like like the coloring & flowy back of this top BUT it’s sort of almost exactly like a shirt I got {and kept!} from my last fix. BUT the back of the top IS different & I love the orange/red color for the Fall.

orange back

I think it’s a flattering top in general because it’s loose but still somewhat structured.

Also, the cuffed sleeves make me happy.

What do you think?

RD Style Calandra Side Button Hooded Poncho {$68}RD Style Calandra Side Button Hooded Poncho

This is one I am really on the fence on – I pulled it out of the box and something like this is so me. I like loose, comfortable tops, something I can easily wear with skinny jeans and boots and be good to go – this fits the bill.

fall clothes

I like the off white coloring, it’s more cream in real life and the hood is fun too. I also enjoy the button detail on the sides. But is it too much fabric? Is it too big on me? Does it look boxy?

back poncho

It’s a poncho & it’s oversized, because it’s supposed to be oversized – I get that –  but I can’t decide if it’s too big on me!

What do you think?

I know I will wear this a lot, because its cozy & easy to throw on, but I can’t decide if it’s a little sack-like on me?

Would love to know what you think?

Kut from the Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean {$78}

Kut from the Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean

This jeans are OH! SO! comfortable and cozy. They are distressed with a few little “worn” marks on them & I love the cuffs at the bottom. Ankle jeans make me happy in general.

kut from the cloth

The only bummer about these is that they are a liiiiiitle big on me.

They are boyfriend jeans so they are supposed to be looser & more of a relaxed fit, but I definitely think I could have gone with a size down.

On the other hand, I don’t have any “looser” jeans like this. But that may be a bit of a price to pay for a more casual looking pair of jeans. Thoughts?

Another fix & another bag!

I love getting a bag in my Fixes {because I’m a bag lady!} – I don’t think you can ever have too many! {Words from a true bag lady!}

I really like the color of this bag AND the gold detail. But for some reasons it’s not really wowing me like I thought it would. My mom was super surprised I wasn’t all over this bag, and I am a bit too! It’s definitely cute & had a ton of pockets and zip details – the coloring also makes it perfect for most seasons too.

Do you like this bag?

    I love the poncho, bag and vest. I got the Orange t-shirt as well and for me that was a lot to pay for a t-shirt in October when I live in New England. For the jeans and the bag, I wouldn’t get them unless you love them!

    I like the poncho but understand what you mean. It is a touch too big. The bag is cute and versatile. I like the shirt. Even though its like one you have, if it works, that’s what matters! 🙂 Enjoy your fix!

    I like the vest on you the most – it’s really nice. I do like the boyfriend jeans too, but maybe try sizing down? The poncho is cute but looks way too big in my opinion. Can I ask about your brown loafer flats? 🙂

    I really love the poncho! I don’t think it’s too big, but I also love roomy/large/possibly too big for me clothes, so take that for what it’s worth 🙂

    I love the style/color of the hooded poncho but think its a little too big. Can you get a smaller size…if so, get it! Would also keep the gray short sleeve but send the rest back. Personally wouldn’t pay over $50 for something that I don’t love or that doesn’t fit great.

    I would not keep the boyfriend jeans — I purchased Katy distressed boyfriend jeans from Kut from the Kloth at Nordstrom Rack for less than $50 the other day. I think you might like the poncho paired with leggings rather than jeans.

    I agree with other comments on the poncho- totally looks like something I’d wear the crap out of, but it’s kinda big on you and yes, lots of fabric. Everything else is so cute! Might be my favorite of your fixes.

    Hi, I think if the poncho is a little bit fitted style it would look too cute. I feel like the poncho covers too much of your beautiful body line. I like the vest a lot!!

    I really like the poncho and the vest. The poncho might not be fitted but it’s not supposed to be, and sometimes you just want something a little bigger

  • Reply Lisa November 3, 2014 at 8:40 pm

    OK, I’m in love with the poncho. I don’t think it’s boxy at all when it’s lying correctly.

    What photo program do you use to make your review photos? I love the style of it and I’m looking for a good (preferably free) option to use for my own reviews.

      Hi Julia,
      I use PicMonkey – check out my favorite blogging tools in this post – http://bit.ly/12uWPEy- and feel free to let me know if you have any other questions! 🙂

        Do you pay for the premium features of PicMonkey?

        The bit link isn’t working – where can I find your blog tools post? I am trying to move towards making a little money for my blog, so I’m interested in any tools that help me with that goal. Your collages look so clean and I love the labeling.

    What size poncho do you have? I am trying to figure out if sizing down on mine would be helpful.

    • Reply Leslie October 8, 2015 at 7:57 am

      I got medium and love it!
