In 2015…

January 2015

obsessed with my new planner

I think my resolution in 2014 was to survive.

Life with a newborn is all sorts of awesome, but it’s also all sorts of crazy & exhausting & overwhelming. I think it was the fastest year of my life and time has just flown by at lightning speed with my little baby who is now less like a little baby {and more like a little boy!} every day.

But more about that another day {say in 4 weeks when Brooks turns ONE! #timepleasestop } So in 2014 my goal was to survive the beginning of the new chapter in my life that is parenthood.

Being that today is the first day of 2015 – I’d say we survived 2014 quite nicely.

This year I have a few things I want to put on my radar and focus on a bit more in 2015. Of course, I want to continue to eat healthy, drink lots of water, exercise and all that jazz – things I have discussed in previous resolutions . All that is a lifestyle I try to live on a daily basis. But today I wanted to share with you a few other things:

In 2015..as a mom I want to put my phone down, turn off the TV & have less technology on around me when Brooks is awake. When he’s up I want to focus on playtime together, exploring new things with him and having my phone be less of a crutch to be constantly connected. The only hard part about this is I love taking pictures and videos to share all day long & I love to be able to capture fun memories to share! But in general I want to have nap times be my phone/tv/computer time and all other times focus more on my little man!

In 2015…as a wife I want more date nights! With a new baby it’s been hard for Charles & I to find time for just us – which is obviously important! When the opportunity comes for us to go out just us, we take it! But it needs to be more of a regular thing!

In 2015…as a daughter I want to help my parents move to PA! They bought a house which will be built in the Fall but packing up the house that’s been our home for 16 years is going to be a lot of work! Plus it is always fun to bring the little man down to VA!

In 2015…as a friend I want to make more time for my friends. Girls nights are {almost!} just as important as date nights. And it’s important to me to keep up with my friends. Again, I feel like I am blaming the baby {but not really blaming the baby} but I’ve definitely been in contact with way more of my mom friends this year. Need to check in more frequently with my ladies!

In 2015…as a blogger I want to make more time for more life posts {and a few less sponsored posts.} This is my part-time job, as I am a full time Stay-At-Home-Mom – and I know the past year I have taken on way more sponsored posts than make sense for my blog. I plan to cut back a bit and focus on the opportunities that make the most sense for my little part of the world wide web.

In 2015…as a gal who loves to shop I plan to organize my closet and get rid of the clothes that don’t work for me or my life anymore. I’m also trying to be more conscious of what I do bring into my closet {which is hard!} I have been taking advantage of using Twice {I’m obsessed!} so consign some clothes and make a few bucks – and some room in my closet. I need to purge some more for sure! Cleaning out my closet is my main mission for 2015! Anyone else have a hard time with this?

So there you have it – a few things I am planning on doing in 2015!

These are great goals! I love your blog, but admittedly, the sponsored posts were getting tiring. I’m glad you’re cutting back, so we can read more about you and your life!

Amen to cleaning out the closet!! I used to reorganize quarterly, but with the little lady, things in my closet have gotten out of hand.

You survived 2014 just beautifully with your new arrival – so proud of you for this and your goals for 2015 sound very reasonable! I’m sure you will be able to tackle them all. Just remember to focus on yourself too and you’ll be a happier person for everyone!
