5 Months Pregnant With Baby #2

1818 weeks

How far along am I: Officially 22 weeks! Can’t believe we are now in MONTH six {via my favorite little pregnancy calendar} Four more months until we get to meet this little guy – can’t wait!

How I’m feeling: Feeling tired. still no real sign of that “second trimester energy burst” but I guess that makes sense when you are running around after a one year old all day. Honestly, I can’t get enough naps or sleep. When we are hanging out at home I’m exhausted – I feel better when we get out of the house and I’m doing something, but then I come home drained from being out and about. I’m hoping this passes soon, but I don’t know that it will. I’ve also been having issues with my tailbone recently – sitting up and down has become somewhat painful. I think I tweaked an old sports injury somehow and the extra pressure from my growing belly isn’t doing any favors. I got a prenatal massage and that helped a bit but its still painful and I assume only going to get worse.

Total weight gain: I’m up 5/6 pounds as per my last appointment which was almost 2 weeks ago.

How big is baby: Little man should be weighing in at one whole pound this week! About the size of a spaghetti squash – almost 11 inches long.

Maternity clothes: Pretty much living in my Maternity Must Have’s for Spring. I do have a few pairs of pants {with forgiving waists} some oversized stretchy tanks and a maxi skirt or two that I’ve been wearing – For me right now {and I assume for the next 4 months – and beyond} it’s all about comfort.

Stretch marks: Nothing.

On Sleep: I wish I could bottle up all the amazing sleep I’ve been getting and save it for September when I have a little newborn waking up every few hours! Brooks has been a champion sleeper {knock on all the wood} – going through the night each day, and I’ve been really good at being in bed around 8:30pm and asleep by 9:30 – 10:00pm at the latest! I get up a few times a night, at least two, to pee which is a bummer but other than that I sleep until between 6-7am when little man gets up. It’s been great and I’m not looking forward to no sleep again!

Baby Movement: Yes! The new little guy has a little dance party in my belly most days. I feel him moving around throughout the day, usually when I’m sitting down – but he moves the most at night when my feet are up. So fun to feel those movements again!

Food cravings: All. The Food. I feel like I don’t eat too much throughout the day, but it’s just because I’m busy running around – I’d pretty much eat anything that was put in front of me! I love Five Guys, Chipotle, cheesesteaks, Greek salads, green smoothies – a random assortment of things.

Food aversions: Depends on my mood. But I know when I don’t want something that it’s no go!

Belly button in or out: My belly button is not in, but it’s not out. It’s sort of flat.

What I miss: Not being tired all the time.curly

Best moment this Month: Finding out the gender!

What I’m looking forward to: Two little brothers running around!

Milestone: I feel like I really “popped” this month in terms of belly. Depending on what I wore before you could tell – like if I was wearing a super tight top – but now that belly is popping out in anything & everything I put on! Sort of makes sense since we are halfway through this second pregnancy {WHAT?!}

    You look so adorable! Have you tried a chiropractor for the tailbone issue? My chiropractor helped me a lot through and shortly after my pregnancy. Hope you get some relief soon! 🙂

    It’s so fun to follow your progress! I am 24 weeks pregnant with #2 and was just having some tailbone issues/pain a couple weeks ago. I could barely bend over. Then, one day, it stopped. I think my little guy, as small as he is, must have been wedged on a nerve or something for a bit. I hope it gets better for you! We have a couple more months and a few more pounds to go.
