Where I Baby Wear

Did you know that October is world babywearing awareness month?

I totally didn’t, but I’m so glad I do now! Let’s celebrate by wearing all the babies! Ha!

I’ve been a big, Huge, MASSIVE fan of babywearing. I wore Brooks all the time. Because he loved it, because I loved it and because it truly made things easier when he wanted to be close, but I needed to get something done.

And I’m so happy to be babywearing again with Graham.

Because I love it, because he loves it and with baby #2 it’s necessary. It’s the best feeling to have your baby close but be able to be hands free at the same time.

I was so excited when I had the chance to partner with Ergobaby to try out their carrier and spread the love about babywearing awareness month. I’ve been able to try out quite a few of carriers over the past 2+ years with my boys, but this has been my first experience with Ergobaby!

ready for pick up

I was sent the Original Baby Carrier – Bundle of Joy – in galaxy grey to try out. And I’ve been on a mission the past few weeks to put it through the test.

This carrier is great because it came with the infant insert so we’ve been able to use it with Graham right from the start. And let me tell you, when you have a toddler to chase around after, you need to keep the newborn safe, comfortable and cozy – while you run around after your firstborn! Ha!

When babywearing is done right, it’s all sorts of amazing for mama + babe. It also makes everything so much easier  – I wouldn’t have been able to go for this awesome hike with a 4 week old if I wasn’t wearing him .

And spoiler alert -> he slept the whole time we hiked up the mountain.

He was happy {sleeping}, I was happy {hiking} // everybody wins!

Babywearing has made my life easier, more comfortable and more fun too – especially this second time around.   Brooks love to run around and be on his own so sometimes it’s nice when we do a family outing {like to the zoo} to not even take a stroller. Brooks is good on his own {with someone else set to chase after him} and it’s easy for me to pack a backpack {full of all the toddler + baby gear} and wear Graham. Good to go!

Side Note: I’ve also been loving this carrier more and more as the weather cools because the infant insert gives the perfect amount of extra warmth – combined with my body heat, little man is warm and toasty!

I also really love being so comfortable baby wearing because in some circumstances {like the Farmer’s Market} it’s literally impossible to bring a stroller into the crazy crowd mix. Throw baby G in the Ergo and we are good to go -> plus little man gets an extra nap, cuddled up with mom.

I’ve just had a great time trying out the new {to me} Ergo – it’s been great to babywear again. I’m looking forward to the time when Graham is a little more alert {with more head and neck control} so he can enjoy watching the world go by with me.

Side Note: Did you know babywearing can replace tummy time?! Babywearing works the same muscles and allows the same benefits as tummy time.  An infant in an upright carrier is able to work on moving his or her neck while building up the muscles, and just having to remain upright (even while supported) builds the stomach muscles. Winning!

I’m excited about the adventures I’ll have with my two little guys – we were able to have lots of fun while wearing Brooks and I know it’s going to be just as awesome of an experience to wear Graham. He’s already done so much in his first few weeks, while we chase around after big bro.

What great information! If I was young enough to have more kids, I would definitely try this. Looks like a great way to spend an afternoon!

I use to wear my son everywhere and even at home. I wish he was still small enough to wear sometimes. Miss those days!

Both you and Graham look super comfortable when you are out and about! I wish I had this product to wear when I was a young mother 30 plus years ago. Enjoy wearing Graham as long as you can!
