January 2016 Stitch Fix

This is my 30th Fix – can you believe it?! I can’t believe I’ve gotten that many over the years! I took two major breaks {during my two pregnancies – bump #1 + bump #2} with Fixin’ but it’s always my favorite part of the month when this little box shows up on my doorstep!

fix

With two kids I’ve found this service more and more amazing – since shopping with Brooks and Graham is pretty much out of the question. I pay a $20 stylist fee – which goes towards anything I keep, let my stylist know what sort of thing I am looking for – usually comfortable, casual + cute pieces {#momlife} – and sometimes I ask for some specific pieces that I see other people getting that I’d like to try out.

blues and greys

I love being able to try things on, in the comfort of my own home, during nap time, without having to go anywhere. It’s awesome when things show up that are my style, my size and in my price point. Win, win. win! For this Fix, I had a few specific requests and all of them but #4 were things that I specifically asked for! Woohoo!

Also – please excuse my crazy mom bun hair in these pictures. Couldn’t get outside to snap pics – hello blizzard – and the floppy bun was the best I could do in the time that I had to take the pics and to try everything on! Ha!

Eclair Pip Crew Neck Blouse ($64}

This piece I requested in my previous Fix because I saw someone in it and though it was cute – which is totally true. But I think the lightning which I saw this piece was different than when you see it in real life, because it’s totally sheer. I totally need to invest in a navy tank top, but I thought wearing a white one would show you the sheerness of the piece and the chevron patter, which is really cute. I love the bottom lace detail of this piece and the color, but I think it’s a little too delicate of a piece for me – I don’t need a dressy top like this in my wardrobe right now BUT it is really cute. Thoughts?

Laila Jayde Rawlie Raglan Knit Top {$54}

Next up – another requested piece. I saw this and knew it would be perfect for my wardrobe. Its a really nice + thick material, feels very nice on. I also love the colors because it’s casual, can be paired with pretty much anything but makes sense for my day to day activities too. The only thing is that I’m questioning the different ways the stripes are going looking at pictures of me wearing it now. Thoughts? Think it’s worth it?

Skies are Blue Miayan Dress {$78}

Next up is this gorgeous piece! I requested this last month because I thought it would be perfect for Christmas or New Years – which it totally would have been! They didn’t have it then, but got it now and passed it along. I’m sort of in love with it. I think it’s a great price for a different dress, I love the bottom – totally my style. I also think you can dress this up with heels and bling or make it a little more casual with flats or boots and a jean jacket.

I think it’s a little short at the moment, maybe I will request a size up for some extra length in the bottom of the dress. I love this, but I don’t have anything coming up that I know I need it or will wear it for! BUT when you need a good dress, it’s hard to find – am I right? So that being said, it might be worth keeping. What do you think? Keep or Return?

Gills Charleen Dress {$68}charlene dress

This dress is the one piece I didn’t request in this Fix. I requested another dress that they didn’t have but my stylist said this was similar. I’mont really loving this piece for a few reasons – the pattern and the fit – I don’t love how the flower hits me pretty much in my crotch, not sure that’s a good look. I also think it’s a little short, would need a size larger for length, but then I think it would make it possibly too boxy.

I enjoy a long sleeve dress and I do think this could be cute with boots and I enjoy the scoop neck in the back but I don’t think it’s working for me – maybe if the flower burst were a little different, like they are in the style card. Thoughts?

Margaret M Emer Boot Cut Pants {$98}emer boot cut

Ah! These pants! If you’ve never had a pair of Emers, you totally need to try them. They are sliming with a wide elastic band pant. So comfortable, easy to wear and a great fit. I love the color of these, the navy was hard to feature inside, but they are a great shade – I also enjoy the bootcut, never seen that before. BUT they are a little on the dressy end for my day to day life right now. I don’t think I would wear them running around with the boys. AND they are a little pricey to keep if I don’t think I can wear them on the daily. That being said, they are very comfortable – on the fence about these.

    It seems like the striped top is the best choice in terms of regular way/your life style. I do love the dress with the metallic bottom though!! And yes, the flower hits you in the crotch and just seems weird!

    Love the Black and Gray striped top on you and also think the dress would be stunning in a little longer length.
