So, I hope you had an amazing weekend! We had a blast exploring 3 new breweries + restaurants in the Fairmount hood – I shared some of our fun on Instagram. I love where we live in the city – and lots of new places to eat + drink popping up make me so happy!
Anyways, today I wanted to share with you a fun adventure we had last week! I had the opportunity to join some other local Philly bloggers and check out the new One Liberty Observation Deck! This was something that has been on my radar for a while now, I’ve been meaning to check it out ever since it opened, so I was pumped when I had the opportunity to see it with the boys, and bring my parents along as well!
We got there a few minutes early and since they take groups up at specific times all together, we enjoyed a few escalator rides to pass the time – Brooks was clearly obsessed. What toddler doesn’t love a good escalator ride?!
After riding the escalator we made our way to pick up our tickets. The lovely PR team hooked us up with a little extra treat for the kids – a old school view finder with photos from the #viewfromthetop – it was a great little present to keep the kids entertained and a nice souvenir!
While we waited to go up to the top, we checked out the gift shop – lots of great gift ideas!
Then it was time to make our way up to the top to the One Liberty Observation Deck. We started the experience off by Ben Franklin’s feet – the whole thing has a theme around good ‘ol Ben!
Next we took a elevator ride up 883 feet above street level to the 57th floor – it was a 75 second express ride to the top. This is the tallest standing attraction in Philadelphia – within the iconic Helmut Jahn designed skyscraper that was the first building in Philadelphia to be taller than the statue of Willian Penn on City Hall in 1987.
When we went last Thursday, it wasn’t the clearest of days so I didn’t know what to expect – but I was blown away by the gorgeous views up on top, and just how far we were able to see in the distance. It was the perfect day to see the sights!
Brooks {and my parents} were pretty impressed. The observation area is really gorgeous, the area is spacious and did I mention the views are pretty spectacular?!
I’m not one for heights, but it was really cool to be up this high – I can only imagine how much more beautiful it will be, come spring when the trees are in bloom and everything is green, sunny and gorgeous!
These pictures seriously don’t do the day justice. Looks sort of gloomy, but it really wasn’t – very calming and great to take in the scenery!
Another cool thing about the view from the top is there are all these awesome interactive spots that let you check out different views of different areas of the city. Brooks enjoyed moving that around! Ha!
Seriously, the views?! You can see a 360 vantage point from all over Philadelphia, over the bridges to New Jersey down the river all the way to Delaware and pretty much as far as the eye can see!
Remember the feet from down on the first floor? We found the rest of Ben Franklin up top!
