I can’t believe Memorial Day Weekend has come and gone already. I feel like it seems to sneak right up on us every year and then it’s over in the blink of an eye – a long weekend never seems long enough! BUT I can’t complain at all about any of that because I have officially set up shop down the shore {or at the beach depending on where you live} from last week until mid – June.
Here we are heading down last week with the car packed with way too much stuff!
Pretty excited about that. I figured there’s no point in packing and unpacking, loading and re-loading the car, driving back and forth from the shore when I can do my job as a SAHM quite well from the beach! And I believe the salt air does everyone a bit of good too!
We had a beautiful weekend here in Avalon and soaked up the sun along with some great beach time. The boys both love it- Brooks especially and it was Graham’s first time! But what’s NOT to love about the beach?!
We got in and got settled on Thursday morning and then promptly headed out for an afternoon at the beach. We had been talking about the ‘beach this summer’ for a few weeks so Brooks was seriously excited when ‘this summer’ turned out to be ‘right now!’
After soaking up our first afternoon at the beach, Charles and I were able to head out for dinner solo.
outfit details: necklace / dress { trunk club} / sunglasses / jean jacket / heels
We had a lovely meal at the Princeton – which was pretty quiet for the Thursday of MDW – it was nice to get out child free for a bit! And of course drink #alltherose
Friday morning we woke up and decided to do a family bike ride to a park in the morning. We just got these amazing new bike seats for the boys so we can all go in rides together and the flat Avalon roads were perfect to go out for a spin.
After naps we headed back to the beach for another afternoon in the sand.
Side Note: if you have littles or toddlers at the beach this summer, bring a little inflatable pool – so great to keep the littles out of the sand {sort of} and give the toddlers a wet, cool place to sit!
Friday at the beach also included twinning with my SIL in our Mara Hoffman suits. Obsessed
And jump shots, just because.
Then it was time to put the baby in the watermelon, because it’s what we do.
Seriously, how cute is my little watermelon babe?
We did the same thing to Brooks when he was about the same age so obviously we had to recreate for Graham.
Who wore it best?
Saturday morning we were back at the beach – I need to do a separate post on all the things that come with us to the beach, but anything to keep the littles occupied and happy! You would think the sand and the ocean would be enough but that’s not necessarily the case!
The rest of the weekend included dinners out with family…
check out my floral romper here
Tasty cocktails…
Going out with friends…
earrings / off the shoulder top
Fantastic cheese boards…
Mexican fighting masks..
Ice cream with sprinkles…
Mini golf…
And a trip to the Wetlands Institute, which will be highlighted in a separate post because we had so much fun!
All in all it was a beautiful weekend and I’m excited to spend some extra time here the next few weeks. Who doesn’t love the beach?! And how appropriate was my stars + stripes shirt {looked pretty different last year!} for the holiday!
I hope you had a great long weekend with your family + enjoyed the holiday wherever you were!
