On Mother’s Day…

on mothers day

Sure, I understand that working mom’s might want to spend Mother’s Day with their kids. I do that all day, every day. Ha. My kids ARE my job – 24/7. I’m blessed to be a Stay at Home Mom, and I love my job. I also {obviously} love my littles, can’t get enough of them {most days} but on Mother’s Day, I’d like a little time alone.

I also understand that my kids are still too young to really understand holidays in general, so this may or may not be a list just for the hubs. #sorryimnotsorry Ha. So for a little Friday Fun, here’s an idea of how I’d like to spend this Mother’s Day incase  **cough – Hubs – cough** wants any pointers.

On Mother’s Day…I’d like to sleep in {anytime past 7:30am would do – 8am would be the DREAM!}

On Mother’s Day…I’d like to not be the one to have to get the kids first thing in the morning. This includes being woken up by them on the monitors {Hubs, feel free to take those to your side of the bed in the middle of the night!}

On Mother’s Day…I want to pee alone.

On Mother’s Day…I’d like to take a long, hot shower – with no one running in to bother me.

On Mother’s Day…I don’t want to have to cook – breakfast, lunch OR dinner. I would just like food to appear in front of me, stuff you know I enjoy. Don’t ask me what I want, if you could already know what I want that would be great. Just have it ready + hot. Hot food is up there on my Mother’s Day priority list.

On Mother’s Day..I’d like you to already have a plan for the day. Please don’t ask me what I want to do. I am the kids cruise director all week, planning out the days. I’m off the clock today.

…Ok, if you really want me to plan the day…

On Mother’s Day…I’d like to go to the spa. Massage, wrap, facial – any {or all!} work for me. Preferably a spa with the cozy robes that you can sit in and drink tea all day in a quiet room. I want to go there please. Book it for me.

On Mother’s Day…I’d like to go shopping {alone} – Being able to try on a thing or two without one or more littles in tow {or being a slave to the nap} would be a real treat. Heck, being able to use the escalator and not have to search around for an elevator for the stroller would be a vacation!

On Mother’s Day…I’d like to sit in a coffee shop, enjoy my hot beverage {hotness…again, up there on the priority list} and maybe read a book for a little? Silence – also up there on my list!

…If the spa + shopping day can’t happen…

On Mother’s Day…if you are searching for a little treat, you know I’ve had my eye on that ring {for push present #2, even though our littlest is 8 months old, to match my push present #1} I wouldn’t be mad if that made it’s way on my finger.

On Mother’s Day…No flowers please. I’d prefer flowers when I’ve had a rough day and need a pick me up. Flowers are best when given for no reason. Those are the best kind. But if you must, you know I enjoy hydrangeas.

On Mother’s Day…I want to pick up NOTHING. Seriously, nothing. All Day Long.

On Mother’s Day…I want the dishes to be actually put in the dishwasher, not left on the counter above it, or in the sink right next to it. Put them in the dishwasher please. Please.

On Mother’s Day…I want the dirty landry to make it’s way into the hamper, and not left around the room, or on the floor NEXT TO the hamper. And if you want to actually DO the laundry – I wouldn’t hate that idea.

On Mother’s Day…the little fairies that do everything, clean everything, cook everything, pick everything up, put everything away {aka – yours truly} gets the day off. Feel free to take over.

For me – Everyday is all about the kids – which is awesome and how it’s supposed to be. But on Mother’s Day, I’d like it to be about me a little {or A LOT works too!}

    This.is.everything! I work full-time but take over toddler/baby duty the second I walk in the door from my husband, plus early morning, nighttime wakeups, and the weekend. I would give anything for the house to be dusted and vacuumed and the grocery shopping done and put away (without me asking/nagging/doing it myself)!

    My dearest, you have hit the nail on the head of what life is like being a mom and desires for Mother’s Day! If I was your hubby, I would kick you out of the house as soon as you got up for the whole day, wouldn’t that be a great idea? Back at 7 PM after the littles are asleep! Good luck and the Happiest of Mother’s Day whatever you do…XOXO
