Herr’s Snack Factory Tour – Nottingham, PA

Yesterday the boys and I met up with my sister-in-law and we headed to check out the Herr’s Factory Tour in Nottingham, PA. Brooks is a big Daniel Tiger fan and one of the characters parents works at the crayon factory on the show {side note, we need to hit up the Crayola Factory ASAP} but when I mentioned potato chips and factory in the same sentence to Brooks, he was pretty pumped!

Fun Fact: This was not my first chip factory visit! I toured the Frito-Lay Factory in Beloit, WI!

It was about an hour away from us in Philly, maybe a tad bit more, but it was a nice little drive. Graham napped in the car and Brooks just enjoyed watching the world go by.herrsfactory tour

We arrived at Herr’s and had a 11:20 tour time – it’s free to take a tour, but you need a RSVP.

The boys were just here for the chips.

The tour started with a 10 minute video about the history of the factory.

The boys were into it:

Then we made our way throughout the factory to see the different stages of the factory. Brooks was pretty blown away by all the machines. Graham was enjoying people watching – everyone was happy!

At the end of the tour, our guide went into the line where the chips were coming out and took some right off for us to try. They were hot and delicious.

Brooks was pretty happy about the chips.

And Graham was too – seriously, who doesn’t love fresh, hot chips?!

And at the end of the tour everyone got 2 free bags of chips as well! It was a nice little treat after you were already salivating from smelling the deliciousness of the chips and seasonings. We enjoyed the snack for sure!

It was a lovely way to spend the day – if you are ever out that way or looking for a nice little day trip, but sure to add the Herr’s Snack Factory Tour to your list!

Do you have a fun toddler summertime activity you’ve recently done or that’s on your list?

Please share! Would love to hear about it!

How fun! I’m always looking for things to do with my 2 in the Philadelphia area. I have the Crayola factory in our summer bucket list 🙂
