Labor Day Weekend Block Party

I can’t believe Summer is officially over – Ok, ok! I know the first day of Fall really starts on September 22nd, but still – with all the first day of school pictures flooding social media today, and not to mention pumpkin spice everything has already hit the shelves, I think we can officially say Summer is on the outs, even though it’s still 90*+ in Philly!

We’ve done a TON of traveling the past few months. I think I did a little too much in the beginning since I was totally burned out before August even began. Packing up and traveling with two kids is no joke! So I was excited when we decided to stay home for Labor Day weekend! llr

I was also excited when it just so happened that our entire block of neighbors in Philly with littles were deciding to stay put too! When we all figured that out, we decided it was time to throw a little block party! Our little corner of Fairmount has TONS of kids – it’s an awesome place to be a parent {and a little} – our street alone has 6 little boys running around – aged 3 – 3 months! all the littles

When we decided on the date, time, food and all that jazz, I knew it was the perfect time to bust out my massive supply of WaterWipes to share with my fellow neighbor moms – since I’m a WaterWipes Ambassador you rarely find me without a pack of wipes on my person – ha! wipes

I’ve been obsessed with WaterWipes since I was first introduced to them because they are chemical free baby wipes that contains only two ingredients – 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract. They keep my littles sensitive skin happy and I love that they don’t have any smell or taste on them, plus they are very effective with any sort of mess without containing any of the harmful chemicals that may be found in other baby wipes.

My trustee WaterWipes were great to have on hand at the party because these little hands get very messy.

We all made food, brought the grill from the backyard out front, did some grillin’ + chilling’ and had some beers while the littles all entertained themselves – it was pretty amazing.

And while the WaterWipes won the award for helping us clean up all the messes, this play yard won the award for keeping all the littles entertained AND contained! Seriously, if you are a parent with little littles, BUY THIS. My neighbor {Hi Kelly!} busted this out and it was amazing – even the 2 year olds wanted to stay in it {and wrestle – ha!} But seriously, this is amazing, folds up small and is easy to take anywhere! Love!

It was a beautiful day to be outside, the kids and adults all had a blast and it was great to spend some extra quality time with our amazing neighbors. We are so lucky we live in such a great place!

Cheers to that!

And as a little extra treat, I gave all my mom friends some extra WaterWipes to try out themselves. They were all very excited as they were a big hit!

On Sunday we did pack up for the night {le sigh} and spent the day at my parents house. Their community was hosting a Labor Day BBQ – I’m so glad we live so close to be able to enjoy holidays and events like this easily. It was the perfect weather for a outside party!

My brother and I competed in a Donut eating contest – he won. I was the only girl and just there for the free donut! Ha!

And then after the littles went to sleep we spent the evening enjoying the sunset, fire pit, some wine and s’mores. It was a great weekend and a wonderful end to the summer season.

Fall, I’m ready for ya!
