Getting Vacation Ready: Balanced + Healthy Eats Before Our Trip

This post was sponsored by Weight Watchers International, Inc. as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

So as our Mexican vacation approaches this week, I’ve been spending the past few months getting vacation ready. I was doing KETO for about 2 months, and that worked out great for me {I lost 10 lbs! – I owe you more on that in a separate post.} But when it came closer and closer to our trip, I slowly transitioned from getting my Keto diet to something a little more carb friendly, while not overdoing it. I knew that on my trip, I wanted to be able to eat + drink whatever I wanted and really enjoy myself. It’s why we are going to an all-inclusive {and adults only! Yay!} resort – so we can have a good time and not have to worry about a thing.

And let’s be honest – Mexican food is amazing, I want to eat all of it!

Random Spring photo of the blossoms to show it was Spring in Philly for a quick moment this weekend. I hope it comes back soon.

Back to getting vacation ready – For me, when it comes to dieting, I don’t like to really do it on my own. I need some inspiration, some motivation {and a few ground rules} It makes it easier for me to track my progress throughout the day. As you can imagine, days with the littles can get a little crazy, sometimes its hard to even make myself a meal before 6:00 at night! I’ve also found that for me, it’s been hard for me to get to the gym to work on my progress there, so I knew that making a big impact in my diet + knowing the calories per day I needed to hit, that helped me stay on track.

I know I need a little structure in my eating schedule –  so I was excited when I had the opportunity to check out the new Freestyle™ program with zero Points® foods and  Weight Watchers® products – With this program there are smart options and flexibility to enjoy more a wide variety of recipes and foods to help you reach any goal. I really like this program because it encourages you to eat more fruits, veggies, lean protein, and less sugar and unhealthy fats – and new to the program are 200+ zero Points® foods, that you don’t ever have to portion or track.

Aside from the Weight Watchers program itself, I love when I go to the grocery store I can easily find WW licensed/endorsed items that myself and my whole family enjoy – and they are all so simple to find at your local Walmart!

A few of my favorites include the JOLLY TIME® Healthy Pop® Popcorn endorsed by Weight Watchers® and the Arnold® Sandwich Thins rolls endorsed by Weight Watchers®. It’s so easy to grab these products and know exactly what you are getting, in terms of your diet + progress. Other favorites I can’t wait to try include Flatout® Flatbread endorsed by Weight Watchers® AND Weight Watchers® Ice Cream Novelties, both of which were sold out at my local store, but I can’t wait to get my hands on them during my next grocery trip.

A little more about my two favorites: The Arnold Sandwich Thin rolls are always amazing to have in the house for basically any meal – they are a great source of fiber, come in multiple flavor varieties {Whole Wheat, Honey Wheat, Flax & Fiber}, and are only 3 SmartPoints® value per roll.

The boys LOVE these rolls with their lunchtime sandwiches and I can’t get enough of them with my avocado + egg salad sandwich! It’s totally the perfect portion!

Another product we can’t live without is the amazing – JOLLY TIME® Healthy Pop® Popcorn endorsed by Weight Watchers® I love that it comes in 100 calorie packs for portion control, is non-GMO and gluten free – not to mention it’s also the only popcorn that is endorsed by Weight Watchers® and its only 3 SmartPoints® value per serving. Look at how cute the bag is, fits right in my hand!

I love this little popcorn bag because its great for me when I need a snack, and it feels like I’m eating so much food in the little 100 calorie bag, but it’s also a simple + easy treat to have on hand to share with the boys. A movie + popcorn date is a little treat they get to earn throughout the week for being good listeners!

This weeks movie pick: Big Hero 6 – I LOVE this movie!

I’ve found that when I’m shopping for healthy food options the whole family can enjoy, it makes it easier for me to stay where I want to be with my eating habits, because any food I may ‘mom grab’ while I make food + snacks for the kids, is balanced! I love having these smart options to help me on my journey, and I can’t wait to share my progress with you as I continue on!

We went to Mexico at the beginning of March for a week. Luckily, I didn’t need to do a lot to feel bikini ready. We had been doing a lot of juices leading up to our trip and I was also in marathon training. However, coming back from our trip was a bit tricky! It is hard to go back to your normal life after you have been in vacation mode for a week enjoying nice dinners and loads of yummy cocktails! My body and mind found it hard to get back into my normal routine!

I know a lot of people who are on Weight Watchers and they really enjoy the program and have lost a lot of weight. Have fun in Mexico, practice moderation and you’ll be fine!
