Throw a Chambray On It – Easter 2018

Hello + Happy Easter Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend with family + loved ones the past few days. The hubs and I got to enjoy a whole Saturday + Sunday morning kid free, while my parents took the boys for some easter fun. It was nice to have a little break, get things done around the house and sleep in.

We also got to go out for a nice dinner { to Zahav! More on that later!} but today I wanted to share a few photos from our Easter fun, so next year when it pops up in my feed I can cry in the corner about how the boys are so big!

Before the Easter egg hunt photos – my easter look! I was OBVIOUSLY planning on wearing florals, pinks + pastels – because it’s Easter and it’s Spring and I’m ready for the sun to come out and stay. I had this Floral Maxi {similar options} in my closet for YEARS – worn it once or twice, so thought it would be fun to bring out and style for this season.

Even though its officially spring and definitely easter, the weather was a little off. It wasn’t warm, but it wasn’t cold – and it definitely wasn’t sunny. I had a hard time figuring out how to make this dress casual enough for an Easter egg hunt, but also dressed up a bit for Easter dinner with family. My new go-to fix for this problem is 100% – throw a chambray on it!

outfit details: Chambray {on sale!} / Floral Maxi {similar} /

ankle strap sandals {on sale!} /  Pixie Studs / LipStick {in Bella}

The Chambray {on sale!} dressed the black + pink floral maxi down a little, but the ankle strap sandals {also on sale!} dressed it back up, with a casual + spring feel. Also I love how the blue chambray complimented the little pops of blue in the floral dress. It wasn’t a look I had really ever experimented with before, but it was super easy and comfortable – plus it helped with the excuse to bust this dress out of the closet.

I need to throw a chambray on it more often!

Fun Fact: These Pixie Studs matched the entire look PERFECTLY and are a great addition to any spring or summer look.

And now – some photos from our Easter this year with these two little chickadees. We had a fun Easter egg hunt, easter dinner with family + the easter bunny came too! Brooks is especially at the age where he’s really enjoying all the holiday fun each season.

Side Note: Can you tell I’ve been working on their smiling for the camera?! Ha.

Brooks and Graham were both totally into the egg hunt this year. My mom color coded the eggs – Blue for Brooks + Green for Graham, plus a golden egg each – so it made it super easy for the littles.

Side Note: If you are a boy mom, you need to stop what you are doing and RUN to the Target Dollar spot and grab some of these ties. The are amazing.

And adorable.

Horray for EASTER 2018!

I hope you had as much fun as we did!
