That Little Dog Too – A Jackson Update + Oral Care for Dogs

It all started with a little dog.

And Her Little Dog Too.

That little dog too is – Jackson! He’s the whole reason I started this blog 12+ years ago! Can you belive it’s been that long?! I sure can’t! I started this blog after I got Jackson in Philadelphia and then moved to DC for a job. My then boyfriend, now husband was still in Philadelphia and I used this blog as a way to post photos of Jackson each day for him to see.

From there the blog sort of morphed into every aspect of my life over the past decade – getting engaged, married, pregancies, kids, travel, life, everything and my little dog too.

It’s all there on my little corner of the internet. And while Jackson may not be the main feature of the blog these days – let’s be real,  the kids keep me pretty busy – but he’s still here and we still love him.

Today I thought it would be fun to do a little Jackson update – because it’s been a while and this little pup is still full of energy and pep.

I love seeing him play with the boys – they are like a trio of three brothers, its so funny to see. They play together, lay around together and when Brooks and Graham are taking a picture, they often ask to include Jackson too.

The littlest band of brothers.

I love it.

So it was a bit of a scare a few weeks ago when Jackson had to go in for a few procedures. He had a lump on his neck that needed to be removed, which was rough for a 12 year old little pup, and he had to also go in for a few teeth extractions and a deep cleaning as well.

Not fun when you are a Senior Dog.

He has recovered perfectly and took the surgery/procedures like a champ. But it was a definate scare and a rough few weeks for my little dog too.

So this opportunity to partner with Espree® Oral Care Gel came at the PERFECT time, since Jackson was fresh out of his surgery and we knew we needed to focus more on his oral health.

As you can imagine, brushing your dogs teeth at 12 years old is not an easy feat. But Jacksons vet said it was necessary since he doesn’t have the best teeth. Literally I got an email THAT DAY from my new friends at Espree seeing if we could work together.

Talk about perfect timing.

A little background – Espree is the #1 trusted brand in the pet grooming category as a Natural, Wholesome Pet Care brand. Espree just launched a new line of Pet Natural Oral Care proven to show results in 14-30 days with no brushing required.

No brushing? Sign me up!

Jackson was sent the Espree Natural Oral Care Gel and Oral Care Spray – both in peppermint {it also comes in peanut butter!}. This gel is meant to remove tartar & plaque all without a toothbrush. It has a natural blend of peppermint oil, graprefuit seed extract, grapeseed extract, thyme oil and neem oil, which helps freshen bad breath and support healthy gums.

We’ve been working with Jackson using the spray and the gel for the past few weeks, and I am so excited for our next vet visit to see his results. At first it was a little hard getting Jackson used to the spray, but the gel is super easy because you just put on their lips, which the dog licks off and it still works.

Bad breath is more than simply bad breath – it’s typically a sign of a more serious oral health issue which impacts the overall health and well-being of a pet. Taking care of a pet’s teeth will help the pet live a longer, healthier and happier life – which is why this has been so important to us – we want Jackson to be around as long as possible!

Espree is available for dogs and cats – so if your furry friend is in need of a little oral care, be sure to try this out! We love it and I’m pretty sure Jackson does too!
