My Britney Spears Inspired Stitch Fix

It’s been a little while since I’ve had a Stitch Fix – I’ve been waiting for the perfect reason to request one! I’ve got a super fun weekend happening this weekend – going to Atlantic City with my girlfriends for the Britney Spears concert.

Woohoo.

Don’t judge if you aren’t a Britney fan. I’ve loved her since the beginning and I always have SUCH an amazing time going to see her live – it’s always an amazing show.

For a fun flashback, check out all my Britney Spears posts of the past – including when I was 7 months pregnant and saw her front row in Las Vegas #goals. If that’s not commitment, I don’t know what is!

So we got tickets, we have dinner reservations, possibly hitting up the spa, laying by the pool – its going to be a super fun getaway. In honor of that I requested a Stitch Fix with the hopes of adding something fun to my wardrobe for my weekend away.

Here’s what I got in my latest Britney Spears – inspired Fix ->

********************

FORTUNE + IVY Sabria Knit Dress $38

//  sandals / Kelin earrings  / lipstick in cool fuchsia

This dress is so stinkin’ cute – ESPECIALLY for the price! I love the vintage floral, the shape and the length. I am not loving the crew neckline and the sleeveless arms, but its a super cute dress for the summer – great to throw on for a girls getaway trip!

********************

RD STYLE Mali Wide Leg Pant $44
These pants! They are so dang comfortable – light, breezy – would be an awesome travel pant or just a great summer pant to wear when you want a longer layer. I love the print, color and detail on this. Just trying to figure out if they are a little too big for me, I was wearing them pretty high on my waist and they were very big – and trying to see if I have a top that makes sense with them. They sent this grey tie top {more on that below} and I’m not sure it makes sense with these pants with the extra bulk.
Aside from all that I still really like these pants, I think they would be great to pair with booties and a denim jacket in the spring or fall – what do you think? Keep or Pass?

********************

MARKET & SPRUCE Vreelan Side Knot Knit Top $44
Next up – this top! I sort of love it with denim, so much cuter, right? Would be easy to layer with sweaters or other layers as the weather cools and the grey makes it easy to pair with anything or any print! Sort of love this as a great neutral basic to wear with anything!
What do you think?

********************

KAILEIGH Lexy Knit Jumpsuit $58

Ok, this jumpsuit is totally A.C. + Britney. I LOVE the color – it’s a beautiful eggplant in real life. The fit is also great with pockets and its a light fabric. Would be fun to layer and its different than anything I have in my closet!

What do you think? Keep or Pass? Is it Britney worthy?

********************

MIA Dossie Linen Wedge $69

And finally – these wedges! Another totally A.C. pick. They are super comfortable, a great neutral but a little high for my taste. I also have similar shoes which I like better, so I’m not sure these make the cut! What do you think?

********************

So I know this wasn’t a real blinged out Britney crazy fix, but it was perfect for me and my weekend away to see her! I am digging the pieces that I got to try and am excited to see how each of them work a little more with items already in my closet!

Now I have to decide what to keep!

Now I need your help! I’m going to have a hard time deciding that to keep from this Fix! As always, I love your thoughts and opinions – would love to know your favorite piece {or two} from this Fix!

Britney Spears “Piece of Me” in Las Vegas

I shared with you my Weekend in Vegas experience yesterday but I figured since the whole point of our trip was all about Britney, that her concert experience deserved it’s very own post!

When I stepped off the plane on Thursday in Vegas I was welcomed into this new city with a fun surprise on my email. Apparently, Britney was going to be giving a special private show before the concert with a surprise guest – if I was one of the first 500 people to response, I could go. So obviously, I dropped everything in the middle of the airport to respond to this email!

When Michelle & I booked our trip, I took care of the concert tickets & she booked the hotel. We are lucky that we coordinated it that way because when I got the email, Michelle was still on her flight in the air & when she touched down it would have likely been too late for us to get on the list!

bump

So I got a confirmation email later in the day on Thursday telling me when & where we had to be to get into the preview show before the concert. The concert was at 9:00pm and we were told to be in line at 5:00pm to get into the special show – we arrived at 4:30pm and were about the 25/30th people in line – which worked out great for us because we were able to get front row standing spots for the show.

When we were eventually let in, after waiting a while, we got our spots and got to waiting some more. The folks running the show told us that we were there to see a “dress rehearsal” for the Britney Spears + Iggy Azalea “Pretty Girls” video which would be shown live during the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday. They said that they would run through the song a few times and we would get to check it out. I was pretty excited just to be able to see everything up close and personal!

After the producers got the lighting and staging right we were told that they were going to bring out LUDACRIS who would be announcing the show {he was a co-host for the BBMA’s on Sunday}. I was pretty surprised when we got to see him, he’s really funny and was cracking jokes the whole time. Then they brought out the dancers and started the song & Britney + Iggy came out and did their thing! They ran through the song 3 times which was awesome, but my favorite part was seeing the singers in between the sets – Britney was so nervous and everyone was cheering her on, but she was totally awkward when handling the love from the fans. You can totally tell she has a performing side & a regular person side {which apparently is super shy}.

And the absolute BEST part about the preview show was that it was the actual version that was shown during the BBMA’s on Sunday, which you can see by my screenshot of me in the crowd at the show:

#famous

I was totally on TV and it was really cool to be a part of the Britney Spears experience. But it does go to show you that even though they say it’s “live” – it’s totally not! Haha!

lights

After the pre-show and all the excitement of seeing Britney, Iggy + Ludacris, we still had an entire concert to see! So we excited the concert hall & got back in line to re-enter once they started letting people in for the actual show.

When it was all said and done, we were standing from 4:30pm – 11:30pm – since our seats for both the concert + pre-show were standing room only. Needless to say, my feet were KILLING me at the end of the day.

After getting out of the pre-show and getting back in line for the concert so quickly, we were able to score the same standing room spots right in the front row, which was totally worth it for the actual show because Britney was RIGHTTHERE the entire time.

front row

I’ve been a fan of Britney for a long time – Michelle + I have been to pretty much every concert together, it’s sort of our thing – but this concert was, I think, her best one yet! It was all her best songs, the dancing and entertainment was off the charts and she even sang! Yes, I know I’m crazy for paying money to go to a singing concert where I don’t even expect the singer to sing, but to each his own! Ha!

looking good

I think because Britney had the BBMA’s this weekend she was really on top of her game. She looked amazing and was a seriously awesome show. Here are a few pictures from the show:

Check out the stage behind us! AH! We were so close!

We had an awesome time at the show and the fact that we got to see a little mini show beforehand was just the icing in the cake! If you are in Vegas I would totally recommend seeing Piece of Me {if you are a Britney fan!} – it was fun, high energy and entertaining!

Britney Spears Femme Fatale Tour 2011 – Philadelphia

Before I get into the Britney Spears concert fun – I wanted to share a few pictures from Jackson getting a bath yesterday.

  DSC_4464.JPG

DSC_4477.JPG

Michelle said she would help me give Jackson a bath so we did that before getting ready for the concert.

  DSC_4479.JPG

DSC_4481.JPG

He was such a good boy getting his bath – he looks like a completely different pup when he is wet.

DSC_4483.jpg

After bathing Jackson, Michelle and I got ready for our night out with Britney – we got ready and then headed out for some eats and drinks before the concert. I decided to take Michele to PYT and show her around the Northern Liberties area of Philadelphia.

DSC_4484.jpg

PYT is known for their burgers and their adult shakes. I have had their burgers before so I decided to try out a shake – I was craving peanut butter so I went with the Butterfinger: Vanilla ice cream, van gogh’s dutch caramel vodka, peanut butter and crushed butterfingers. It was magical.

DSC_4495.JPG

We then got a little bit of food to snack on before the show. We tried out the sliders, which were amazing – they came with Salt & Pepper pop chips! Yum!

DSC_4493.JPG

We also got the bacon cheeseburger perogies – not the healthiest choice but they were tasty.

DSC_4494.JPG

After hanging out at PYT we headed over to the concert! For this concert Michelle and I got Floor seats – it was no front row experience, but it was the best we could score when tickets went on sale!

DSC_4498.JPG

Just hanging out with the Britney poster before the show – How could we have scored meet & greet tickets? That would have been amazing.

DSC_4503.JPG

The concert started out with the musical stylings of Nervo – twin sisters from Australia. They were pretty cool. Then Jessie & the Toy Boys hit the stage. I had no idea what to expect from this performance but they were pretty entertaining. I enjoyed the beat and am going to check out some of her songs on iTunes – I think a few of them (specifically We Own The Night) would be fun running songs!

  DSC_4506.JPG

In between performances we took some pictures in our matching new Britney Spears Femme Fatale Tour 2011 shirts.

DSC_4510.JPG

I love going to concerts of artists I love and purchasing a tshirt to remember the fun!

DSC_4511.JPG

Next up to perform was Nicki Minaj – Before this performance I was only familiar with her song Super Bass (which I love!) but she sings so many other songs that I enjoy that I had no idea it was her singing.

DSC_4518.JPG

Nicki put on an amazing show – there was a story to tell – a battle between herself (or Roman, her alter ego) and Nemesis. I think she did a great job with the storyline and the order of the songs she performed, the costumes, props and dances. It was all beautifully done and I enjoyed it a lot!

DSC_4519.JPG

After Nicki performed, there was 45 minutes to wait around before Britney went on!

DSC_4526.JPG

Before we knew it, it was time for Britney to take the stage!

DSC_4524.JPG

photo-28.JPG

As usual, Britney was awesome.

DSC_4544.JPG

The concert itself was a great mix of her new songs as well as some older (but still awesome) songs

DSC_4545.JPG

The floor seats were so fun – it was a crazy party down there!

DSC_4549.JPG

DSC_4558.JPG

I must admit that I liked the theme and overall story of the Circus tour better – who doesn’t love a Circus? – but last night you could totally tell Britney was having a blast and really enjoying herself. She was dancing up a storm, giving us lots of smiles and other “Britney-isms” and I could have sworn she even actually sang a few songs! I loved sitting front row for the Circus tour, but to me it seemed that she was way more into performing this tour.

Britney looks amazing – she rocked it out last night!

And then, in the blink of an eye, the concert had come to an end.

DSC_4625.JPG

I actually wish she had performed another song or two, but what can you do?

DSC_4630.JPG

It was a fabulous evening of great performances!

photo-26.jpg

DSC_4632.JPG

It was a long day – we didn’t get home until almost midnight!

Another evening with Britney has come to an end – I sure hope its not the last, you can bet Michelle and I will be at her next concert, all smiles and singing along!
