Juice Beauty Review

The wonderful folks at Juice Beauty sent me some of their products to try out. I was so excited when this came in the mail a few weeks ago, but I just have been going non-stop and haven’t had a moment to let my readers know what I thought! In my package was a Hydrating Mist, Cleansing Gel, a Green Apple Peel, and Green Apple Antioxidant Moisturizer. So many fun things to test out! Juice Beauty Skincare Is Up To 95% Certified Organic, which I love. I have never tested out any organic skincare products before, and was excited to see and feel the difference!
The Hydrating Mist is “A harmonic blend of certified organic, antioxidant-rich white and red grape juices, soothing aloe vera, nutrient-rich rosehip, grapeseed oil and vitamins to hydrate and balance skin’s natural moisture for a fresh complexion.” I loved it! I had been looking for a hydrating mist recently, but nothing caught my eye so I am so excited this works for me. Not only does it hydrate your face, but it also balances and tones. To use it you just lightly mist on a clean face and it wakes up your face.
The Cleansing Gel is a “refreshing blend of certified organic, antioxidant-rich cherry and lemon juices, purifying botanicals and soothing cleansers will gently remove impurities to clarify and balance, while protecting skin’s natural moisture.” Some cleansing products have left my face not feeling so great in the past, but this stuff left my face feeling fresh, cleaned and very alive! I feel like my skin has a slight glow to it from using this new gel as well! You gotta love that!
The Green Apple Peel is “designed for sensitive skin, this refining hydroxy-acid complex of certified organic apple, lemon, grape juices and raw cane sugar exfoliate for visibly improved skin tone and texture. Vitamin antioxidants and essential nutrients hydrate and nourish fresh skin for a healthy, beautiful complexion.” I get nervous with some facial masks/peels because most of them leave my face dried out but this product didn’t do that at all. There was a slight tingling sensation when first applied, but it said to expect that in the directions so I didn’t freak out. It smelled good too!
The cherry which topped my facial beauty sundae was the Green Apple Antioxidant Moisturiser. “This nutrient-rich certified organic moisturizer combines a brightening complex of organic apple, lemon and grape juices, nutrient-rich essential fatty acids, and age-defying alpha lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10, vitamin C, peptides and DMAE to replenish, nourish and firm aging skin morning and night.” I let that soak in after my facial pampering and it was just very smooth and silky. I loved it.
Thank you Juice Beauty for this amazing opportunity to test out your products!

Is There A New Seed In Town?

I have always been a flax seed kind of girl. The flax seeds have recently become pretty main stream, making appearances in green monsters all around the blogosphere! I mix flax seeds with wheat berries in my monsters on a daily basis. But I think there may be a new seed in town, and in my monsters!

Enter the Chia Seed: mas pics 167

Chia Seeds are a powerhouse nutritional food and extremely rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. A perfect addition to my morning monsters!

ChiaSeedsDirect.com sell only the highest quality chia seeds that are free of pesticides and heavy metals. You’ll get the superior nutrition of chia seeds without any unnatural chemicals. They offer free shipping and orders are placed by the pound. Its a pretty sweet deal. Check it out if you are looking for a new seed in your life!

mas pics 218

I used my chia seeds in my daily green monster, but you can add them to pretty much anything! Mix Chia seeds into yogurt, sprinkle them on cereal in the morning, add to salads, or even add them to your baking. There are many ways to add chia seeds into your daily routine!

mas pics 220

Additional facts about Chia Seeds:

  • Chia Seeds have more protein than any other nutritional grain, not to mention they are high in fiber
  • Chia Seeds are easy to digest and do not need to be ground in order to process them in our digestive system
  • Chia Seeds are absorb 10 times their weight in water, keeping the water in our system longer, keeping us hydrated, this is especially important for athletes!
  • They are Antioxidants! Potassium! Calcium! Oh My!
  • My favorite little factoid is that chia seeds prevent some of the foods we eat from being absorbed in our system, which is key to anyone dieting
  • An ounce of chia seeds contains 137 calories, and will get you four grams of protein and 11 grams of fiber – That will keep you going all day long!
  • mas pics 223

There was just a subtle difference from the seed change, but I really enjoyed it. I think the nutritional benefits of chia may be more diverse than the flax seed. I may have to do more research on that one, but I am excited for the change of seeds! Thanks ChiaSeedsDirect.com! You have made a believer out of me!

PS – Don’t forget about my Holey Donuts Giveaway!  These donuts are low cal and low fat but have FULL flavor so check it out!

Oh The Places I Run!

I went on a nice little run this evening. It was a good time. I got in 5.5 – 6 miles in, not sure of the exact mileage. I felt good about it. I go many different routes on my different runs. This route is one of my longer ones, and I am excited to take you on my journey. Here is where I run:

mas pics 453

I run alongside lots of cars

  mas pics 456

I run past playgrounds

(I hope the parents didn’t think I was some sort of freak taking random pictures of a playground whilst running by!)

mas pics 457

I run by hospitals

mas pics 458

I run in beautiful developments

mas pics 459

I run past wildflowers

mas pics 461

I run by man made ponds

mas pics 462

Sometimes I run on the path

mas pics 463

Sometimes I run off the beaten path

mas pics 464

Sometimes I go off-roading all together on my running route

 mas pics 465

I run alongside parkways

mas pics 466

I run in the ‘forest’

mas pics 467

I run over bridges

mas pics 468

I run past fountains

  mas pics 470

Sometimes I come to forks in the road and I have to make some ‘big’ decisions

mas pics 471

I run past lakes

mas pics 472

I apparently also take some blurry pictures while running

 mas pics 474

I run past a lot of water

 mas pics 475

There are long paths

mas pics 476

And ones that come to a quick end

 mas pics 477

I run past ducks

mas pics 478

I run by pools

mas pics 479

I run by basketball courts

mas pics 480

I run over more bridges

mas pics 481

Apparently I ran too far and my Garmin died. Tear.

mas pics 482

I run past here and every time I see at least 10 deer, obviously the one time I have my camera, there are no deer

mas pics 483

Almost home! And there you have it folks. One of my many running routes. As previously mentioned, I don’t know exactly how far I went because my stupid Garmin died. I will review my new Garmin Forerunner 405 in detail later this week, but it was annoying that it lost power during the last mile of my run. Technology hates me.

It was really cool taking pictures on my run, while some people may have thought I was crazy, it was an awesome way to make the run go by faster. I was thinking the whole time about blogging about it, and before I knew it, the run was over. Definitely made the time fly by!

Where do you run?

I came home and made a green(/orange) monster. It included: carrots, celery, cucumber, red pepper and an apple.

mas pics 484

It was delish! Did I mention I heart my Amazing Grass juice cup?! Because I DO!

mas pics 485 mas pics 487

Sonny & Joe’s sent me a killer package with 7 different types of hummus! Seriously, that’s a lot of hummus! I can’t wait to try all the different types.

mas pics 145

Tonight I busted out the Babaganough Eggplant spread for my post run snack/dinner. It was really good, and I was finishing off a good chunk of the container when I read the ingredients, and it contains mayo. Mayonnaise sometimes can freak me out, and I was kind of surprised to find it in my hummus. This ‘mayo phobia’ is a recent thing, not sure why. Either way the hummus was still good. I liked the mild eggplant flavoring a lot!mas pics 488 mas pics 489

Just Awesome!

Just Tomatoes was nice enough to send me a ‘Blogger’s Special Box’ of samples the other day, and it was full of great stuff. I got samples of Just Strawberries ‘n Bananas, Just Fruit Munches, Just Pineapple Powder, Just Raisins, and Just Veggies. This stuff is legit. The products are exactly what they say they are, NOTHING has been added. No Salt, No Sulfur, No Fat, No Sweeteners, No Preservatives It’s the next best thing to eating out of your garden” I think that is the coolest thing. Half the time these days you don’t know WHAT you are eating. I try to read the ingredients on most of my food, and if I can’t pronounce it/or know what it is, I attempt to stay away. This rule does not always apply to chocolate and/or candy. I have my weaknesses! mas pics 018

First things first, I made a smoothie with the Just Pineapple Powder. It was awesome because I didn’t have to cut up or prepare any pineapple to get the natural flavor. I used the powder, a mango, some strawberries and a banana.

mas pics 026mas pics 207

It was SUPER thick. I am not sure if I should have added water or something, but it was very hard to suck from the straw. I really enjoyed the flavor, it was a good mix. You could really taste the pineapple. I really enjoyed it.

mas pics 209 mas pics 212

Next up I used the Just Strawberries ‘n Bananas with my yogurt for breakfast. Again, nothing added to the packet, just strawberries and bananas! I love it! This was a really good mix. It totally MADE my breakfast. The strawberries and bananas tasted so good and fresh with all of the flavor. I was surprised.

I really enjoyed the two samples I have tried so far from Just Tomatoes. I was at Whole Foods today and I saw a whole shelf of their products (sorry, no camera with me for a picture, bad blogger!) So now I know where they are, and there is seriously SO much to choose from. They have everything you could even want in terms of fruits and vegetables. I will review the rest of the Just Tomatoes samples in the coming days!
