Rockabye Review

I just can’t even tell you how much I loved this book. I was in the middle of reading another book for my book club, but I had to pause on that one, and read Rockabye by Rebecca Woolf. I loved every second of it. I could totally relate to Rebecca at the start of the book because she is/was 23. My age. I think it made the whole reading experience much more real, but while I did relate to Woolf in our similar age, I just found it hard to believe that she was able to write as well as she did, and share as much as she did, and go through so much at the same time, while being so young. I also loved the struggle Woolf had with moving from her old carefree life to motherhood, with her being the only new, young mother in her group. It was very real to read and I felt for Woolf, I felt her lonliness and wanted to be her friend. Either way, I just love that way Woolf writes, I felt the whole time like I was talking with a friend who was being so real with me about her whole experience. I loved how Woolf took us from a little tid-bit of her life pre-prego and into her time with baby Archer two years into it. I seriously couldn’t put it down. I laughed out loud, I read parts out loud to my boyfriend, I even got a little emotional. I didn’t want this book to end. I do read Woolf’s two blogs religiously, so some of the parts I already knew, such as the sex and name of the baby, but it was still amazing. Seriously, Rebecca, if you are out there reading this, I hope you can share some more stories of your life with us. Possibly another book about the baby on the way? I hope so. Can’t wait! I looked for a six star image, because that is what I would have given this book because its so amazing, but here is my five star rating. If anyone needs a gift for mommy to be, or just anyone that loves a good read, I definitely recommend ROCKABYE!
