Polly’s Yoga IS Yummy!

Today according to my training schedule for my Half Marathon, called for 3 minutes hard run and 1 minute easy run – 10 times. So I had about a 30+ minute challenging workout in front of me. I did a little warm up jog and away I went. I have been doing speed interval training for a while now. I heart Jay Blahnik. Have I told you that before? I think I have. He is ‘my’ Nike running  training coach. He has me doing 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 second sprints, with rests in between and he whispers motivational words in my ear. I love it. If you aren’t training with something like this, I swear you are missing out.

Anyways, I did 4 miles at various speed/sprint intervals. They are tough because I really push myself as much as I can. But I love it because I can feel myself getting faster, and you gotta love that feeling!

I have been reading about Polly’s yoga videos for some time now, specifically the Yoga For Runners and I decided that after my speed training, and my soreness from the Shred yesterday, today was the perfect time! The only dilemma was, I had to watch it on my tiny iPod touch screen because my computer volume wasn’t working. ha-ha.

Small screen or not, I loved it! It was only 10 minutes, but it targeted exactly what I wanted/needed it to. Polly is so warm and sweet in her video (and in her blog I read everyday), I can’t wait to try the others out! Yoga for Yummy Abs, Yoga for Healthy Knees and Shins, Yoga for Digestion, Oh My! So much to choose from, I love it. It is the perfect post-run treat. Your body will thank you for it.
