X Marks the Spot

Since our big move last weekend, my healthy eating has definitely been struggling. We have had little to no food in the house and what we do have, I have been to tired to make! Luckily, now the apartment is pretty much unpacked and put together. I feel so much better coming home to an apartment that isn’t overflowing with boxes!

Tonight, in honor of our unpacked kitchen, I decided to make our first dinner in the new apartment! If an unpacked kitchen isn’t something worth celebrating, then I don’t know what is!

On the menu tonight – Wild Salmon Burgers with Spinach and Feta!

(I love how Whole Foods packages their fish/meats! So cute!)

While I was at the market today I also picked up a new seasoned salt that came HIGHLY recommended by one of my grocer friends.

Side Note – I love having grocer friends! 🙂

This Borsari seasoning salt is amazing. It smells incredible and tastes even better. I was so excited I was introduced to this product!

I got a half a pound of the salmon burger, which was pretty massive.

bike 149

I split the burger in half and got 2 burgers for the price of one! Score! I also then added some of the seasoning salt to both sides of the burger. It smelled amazing.

Into the frying pan it went to brown right up!

I seasoned the burger patty additionally with a little fresh lemon juice. Fiancé and I enjoyed the burger with a side of corn on the cobb, which is my favorite summer vegetable!

The spinach and feta in the salmon burger was amazing. The flavors were out of this world and the seasoning salt definitely enhanced my dining experience.

I put my salmon burger on an arnold thin – it was yummy!

I love trying out new foods! This was my first salmon burger experience and it was good! I was fun to prepare dinner in the new kitchen too!

Have you ever had a salmon burger?

In other news, fiancé and I finally hung most of the pictures around the apartment and the place is looking pretty spiffy! It really feels like a home now when we walk in the doors!

Jackson helped by using his tail to dust!

Little boy needs a haircut like woah! He looks like a completely different puppy when he gets shaved down!

And finally today I was one of the lucky few to get the new Droid X!

I have been looking at new phones for a while now. I was thinking about getting the iphone, but I didn’t want to switch to at&t because I would have to get a new phone number.

I love my old blackberry but it was slowly dying. The screen was cracked and I was up for a upgrade, so I got one! I went into the store today just to check out the X and I was one of the first 30 people in the store (without even trying!) so I walked out with one!

It is pretty cool. I love the big screen, it’s a whole new world when viewing websites on my X now compared to my old blackberry! The droid is fast and has lots of fun apps, I will be spending the rest of the evening getting to know my new phone better!

I haven't ever had a salmon burger, but I've been seeing a lot of them lately around the blog/restaurant world. I'll give them a shot someday! I also love sandwich things in place of buns, it is the perfect amount of carb. 🙂
