Show Me Your Race Face!

Do you ever wonder what you look like when you run? When you are seriously in the zone and on a mission?

Most of the race pictures I have in my possession, Fiancé has taken for me. When I see him during a race, I am all smiles and excited to see him, and those emotions usually show through in the pictures.

Apparently I wasn’t putting my best race face forward when Brightroom was taking pictures during the New York Marathon this past weekend, because my race pictures are not looking so hot.

Here are the many faces and emotions of me running the New York Marathon:

Apparently I was sad running the race, or at least that is what I looked like in a few of the pictures.

I looked sad and slightly in pain.

And a tad serious

But also a little confused.

20035 Long Island City- Queens

And tired. Very tired.

Maybe I wanted to take a nap. Is that why my eyes are closed?

Here I am looking like I smell something weird.

Am I smiling or gritting my teeth? Maybe doing a bit of both.

20035 Mile 25 Central Park- Manhattan20035 McCarren Park- Brooklyn

Here, I do not look like I am #1, but apparently that is what I was going for.

(Mental Note – Don’t try to look cute 26 miles into a race, it won’t turn out good for anyone involved!)

Halfway through the race – Can you spot me in the crowd?? See, I told you it was packed with people!

20035 Mile 13.1 Pulaski Bridge- Queens

20035 20K Split- Brooklyn

Here we go! We found a smile and an appropriate gesture!

Marathon Picture Win! Here I look like I am having fun – Wouldn’t it have been way cooler if the Manhattan Skyline was in the background. That would have been awesome.

26.2 miles in 4:15:03! Woop Woop!

Crossing the finish line!

Don’t I look happy to be finished?? After 4 hours of running, who wouldn’t be happy to cross the finish line!?

Don’t think I will be purchasing any of my NYC Official Race Photos. It’s always sad when nothing turns out because when you have an badass race photo, it’s pretty awesome.

Since I just shared with you all my lovely race photos, now I want to see yours!

Do you have any bad race face photos? If you do, and want to share them with the world, email me your worst race face picture and I will post them on the blog! We can all have a good laugh at the silly faces we make when we run!

Email them to Leslie at andherlittledogtoo @ gmail .com

Share your race face with the blogworld! 🙂

In other news, here are some awesome aerial pictures of the marathon from above. Next year I want to watch the race from a helicopter! How fun would that be?! It would be awesome to see all the little people go flying by, taking over streets and bridges!

It’s pretty amazing how many people ran the small streets of New York this past weekend. Word on the street is there were 2 million spectators too! Wowzers!

It was a beautiful day for a marathon though!

Your race pictures are cute.. they show you! I never take a good "during race" picture (well, unless they're planned and I know someone is taking my picture). I always get really excited to go to the official website, and then my pictures look like I'm struggling, even if I know I wasn't. Funny coincidence…. in one of your Philly pictures, I spotted my family in the background!

I don't have "race face" photos on hand, but I do have a pretty sick screen grab from a juggling video I made today:

I had a handful of thumbnails to choose from…and this was the best option – not saying much.

    Fun entry!

The last picture of everyone running across the bridge is amazing. I loved when they closed down part of the highway in DC for the Tri. I dont know how people manage to look good in their race pictures. I feel like I always have a super red face and look pretty unattractive.

I think you should buy the great one! 🙂 It's amazing how many more pics you got!

I like the slightly confused one 🙂

Add this time lapse video from MTA traffic cams to your list. My husband came across it today:

I know I have some less than flattering pics, I will look for them! Wearing sunglasses helps to hide some funny faces :-p

Your photos are not that bad! They show your determination! The bridges with all those people on it is totally amazing! I loved your 1/2 Marathon photo last year in New York!
