Yesterday was an amazing day. My mom and dad came up to Philadelphia for the day to cross a few things off our wedding to-do list, which is miles long!
The first thing we had to do was to meet with our caterer to discuss linen options and our wedding cake.
It is a bit overwhelming looking at these teeny tiny swatches and trying to envision how the tables will look like at the reception. We had to decide the colors for the tablecloth and napkins and see what will work well together.
It’s hard to see the “Big Picture” like this, but with each little decision we are getting closer and closer to the big day!
After the linens, we searched through a book as big as an encyclopedia trying to decide on the look for the wedding cake. There are so many different choices to choose from – cluster dots, monograms, butterfly scrolls – Oh my!
After our meeting with the caterer we decided to stop by the Villanova Church.
Apparently my dad had never seen the inside of the chapel so I wanted him to get a sneak peak of the aisle we will be walking down together in only four short months.
It is going to be so wonderful to get married here – at our alma mater!
After checking out the church, we did what I was most looking forward too for months – my first dress fitting! I bought my dress a while ago but yesterday was the first time I had it on with my shoes and began working with the dress alterations woman.
I am making a bunch of changes to the dress I bought to alter it the exact way I want to wear it for my wedding, so I am excited for that process to be started. Getting the pins and needles stuck in my dress to get the proper fit makes me feel the need to take my Wedding Workouts even more seriously! It’s game time to get my wedding body! 🙂
After my dress fitting my parents and I continued on to check out where we will be having the Rehearsal Dinner and the hotel with the wedding block as well. My parents being in Virginia and me up here in Philadelphia where the wedding will be it has been kind of hard. My parents both want to be involved in all the decisions but sometime’s its hard with them being 2.5 hours away.
After running around like crazy all day then it was time to fuel up! We decided to stop at The Classic Diner in Malvern.
I started off with some turkey chili.
It was delicious and had a little kick to it!
My mom enjoyed the Belgium waffles with bananas.
And my dad got an Angus burger.
For me. after just being in my wedding dress, I might only be eating salads for the next 4 months! Haha…just kidding! I did enjoy the spinach salad as my lunch main course.
It was the biggest salad EVER! It has spinach, beets, asparagus, pink grapefruit and walnuts.
After lunch my parents and I did a few other wedding errands before they headed back to Virginia. Its always so much fun when they come up for the day and we power through our wedding check list! I am grateful whenever my parents take time to come to Philadelphia and help me with wedding stuff so Thanks Mom & Dad!
How are you spending your weekend?
