Family Fun

Yesterday I made the trek down I-95 to my parents house in Virginia. This weekend is for visiting family & friends and dropping off Jackson with my mom & dad – he is staying with them for the next two weeks while Charles & I hit up the Bahamas next week. Jackson is excited for a vacation of his own with grandma & grandpa!

long weekend

I arrived shortly after lunch yesterday afternoon – my mom & I promptly set out for a little retail therapy – I can’t possibly go on my trip without a new outfit – and possibly some new shoes! I wore my sock bun out for the occasion.

After hitting up some of my favorite stores – Nordstrom {Rack}, J.Crew & Anthropologie Oh My! – we met up with my dad & brother for dinner at Esposito’s in Fairfax.

I have had such a good week on my cleanse but with it being Lent my parents wanted some Italian food, temptations were everywhere! I was able to avoid the pizza & bread I ended up having a pretty amazing meal – I split this pasta dish with my dad, along with a salad.

It was a chickpea pasta sauce {yes, the sauce was made out of chickpeas!}, with red peppers, peas & I added in shrimp. All the pasta at Esposito’s is home made so as you can imagine, it was pretty incredible.

Are you drooling yet? I would go back for this dish in a heartbeat!

My mom {who has just as big of a sweet tooth as I do!} got the Chocolate pie with coffee ice cream topped with whipped cream for dessert.

And my brother got the Tartufo – which is vanilla ice ream covered with a thin crust of chocolate. I’ve never had this before but I had a taste & it was pretty amazing.

Today, so far was spent purchasing tickets to the Philadelphia Flower Show – Charles & I went last year with my parents & they LOVED it, so we are going back again! I can’t wait!

And I will be saying goodbye to little Jackson. I am spending the rest of the weekend with my friends & Jackson will be staying with my parents. I can’t believe I’m going to be without my little buddy for the next two weeks. I’m going to miss him so much!

Off to have Brunch with my Dad! Hope your weekend is just as fun!
