Baby Bump: 19 Weeks Pregnant

Mango 19 Weeks19Weeks

How far along are you? 19 Weeks! Almost to the halfway point!

How I’m feeling: Feeling pretty good, been having some lower back pain on my right side above my butt – not sure if I pulled something from all the extra walking I did last week or all the packing. I spoke to my doctor’s office about the pain, they said it could be a pulled muscle or it could be just everything moving, shifting & growing inside my belly along with baby. The pain hasn’t been that bad, I’ve just been keeping an eye on it and taking it {somewhat} easy whenever possible.

Total weight gain: Up about 5 pounds from my last doctor’s appointment, will be updating monthly after each visit.

How big is baby? Baby is about the size of a mango measuring about 6 inches head to bottom. His or Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision and touch! Arms and legs are in proportion with the rest of the body and muscles & cartilage is turning to bone, which gives baby more control over limb movement.

Maternity clothes: Pretty much been living in maternity clothes – I feel more comfortable in them and they make my belly look more like a baby bump than anything else. I have been obsessed with these crops I found on sale recently – I love the olive color and they are so comfortable!

Sleep: I’m starting to think I may never get another full, uninterrupted night of sleep again. I still wake up every few hours to pee. In the beginning of last week I was waking up super early & was exhausted by the end of the day, but by the end of the week I was able to sleep in a bit on Saturday & Sunday – maybe I was extra tired from all the packing? – but it felt good to get some extra Zzz’s and I hope that continues over the long weekend ahead!

Best moment this week: Random people are starting to ask about my bump & it takes me by surprise every time, but after they walk away I feel really excited. I still feel like I am in that in between stage – baby bump or beer belly? – but people are acknowledging it more and more as a baby bump & I love it!

Movement: Feeling more flutters, especially when I sit down or am laying down in bed at night. Still waiting on the edge of my seat for that first official kick!

Food cravings: Pizza, Granny Smith Apples, Cheddar Popcorn, Orange Juice, Smoothies

Food aversions: Chicken

Belly button in or out: In, but long & wide

What I Miss: Ease of movement! I know I’m not very big still but with every quick or sudden movement I am very aware of my belly and it makes me slow down a bit. Also, I could do without the back pain.

What I’m looking forward to: Our gender reveal this weekend!

Milestone: While I don’t think I have “popped” yet – the baby bump is definitely out and about! In weeks prior, I wouldn’t look very pregnant in the morning and then the bump would slowly make an appearance throughout the day, after meals especially. Now the bump is really bumpin’ a bit in the morning. It’s definitely there and while it may be small, its a mighty little bump for sure! Grow baby, grow!

I craved OJ when I was pregnant too and was a cause of a melt down one night when I asked my husband to pour me a glass and he pours me a teeny tiny amount (so he could have space in the bottle to shake it up) but I burst into tears thinking that’s all the OJ he was going to pour me. . . we still laugh about it every time we have OJ!!

Sorry that you are having some back pain – try and take it easy – I know that’s hard to do right now! Wish I lived closer so I could help you! You look terrific, can’t wait for the Baby Brinkley Reveal!

    Almost halfway! Wahoo!!

It took me forever to have a legit bump, so you’re lucky people recognize it already. 😉
