Baby Bump: 24 Weeks Pregnant

week 24

How far along are you? 24 Weeks! 6 Months Pregnant!

How I’m feeling: Feeling tired and excited at the same time. We are officially in our new home and it was an exhausting few days with the move. It’s great to be all moved into our new place but now it feels like we have a never-ending to-do list to make the home our own – we have a few little projects, like painting, some new furniture to purchase, including everything for the nursery and some small things to fix here and there. It’s going to be great to put our own stamp on the house but I sometimes have to remind myself to take a break.

Total weight gain: As of my doctors appointment last week I am up 9 pounds which I feel really good about.

How big is baby? This week baby is about the size of an ear of corn or a cantaloupe – apparently he gained about 4 ounces since last week! Also his lungs are still developing, but they are fully formed as of this week. Baby’s hair is beginning to change to the color it will be a birth – I can’t wait to see what it will be!

Maternity clothes: Shopping for maternity clothes is fun, but you definitely need a buddy when shopping for an upcoming event. I went looking for dresses for an upcoming wedding & showers that are happening in the next two months and it’s so crazy shopping for clothes for my new body & not knowing what will really fit in another few weeks. I found a few things I liked but I am nervous about the fit as my bump continues to grow. Any favorite maternity dress stores you love? Please share!

Sleep: Not doing so good in this department. Since our new bedroom furniture was supposed to be delivered {twice} last week & was unable to fit up the stairs we have been sleeping on a futon mattress on the floor. The first few nights weren’t so bad, partially due to the fact that I was exhausted, but now I am waking up and my back & hips are hurting. Cross your fingers our furniture will be all set up this week – we are having our bedroom set brought in through a window!

Best moment this week: Seeing my parents this weekend – I haven’t seen them since our gender reveal and my bump did a lot of growing in the past month! They were so excited to see how their little grandson has been growing.

Movement: Baby has been moving a ton this week – my mom was able to feel a few kicks during her visit which was pretty special to share with her. Up until this week, he would mainly kick in the mornings and evenings when I would be laying down with my legs out. Now he kicks throughout the day, some big ones & some little ones – but he even kicks when I am standing up which is new and really cool!

Food cravings: I’ve been too busy to eat this past week, let alone crave anything! I hadn’t been grocery shopping in a while so we had been dining out a ton the past week – so we kinda just went for whatever I was in the mood for. I am excited for the Fall & all the tasty seasonal eats that come with it!

Food aversions: still chicken

What I Miss: Being able to enjoy seasonal pumpkin beers!

What I’m looking forward to: Painting the nursery & ordering baby’s furniture!

Milestone: It’s been a good {almost} first week in our new home – I know it’s going to be perfect for our growing family.
