Baby Bump: 32 Weeks Pregnant

32 weeks

How far along are you? 32 weeks – sounds pretty crazy to me that we are already here. I feel like this is when it is all really going to get really real! I was told during one of my hospital tours to have our bags packed ready to go at 34 weeks, just in case, and now that’s only 2 weeks away! Time sure is flying by and the craziness of the holidays only makes everything seem to go by even quicker!

How I’m feeling: Starting to feel big. Baby is getting heavier each week and I can feel him on my bladder Heartburn is still a bit of an issue, but my doctor gave me something which seems to be helping me not be as troubled by it at nighttime, which I appreciate. I {and those around me} are noticing my heavier breathing – things are slowly getting harder and harder to do – bending over to put on socks/shoes is a nightmare and seriously puts me out of breath. So crazy!

I also had a spa day with my BFF Michelle – a prenatal massage at 31/32 weeks pregnant is all sorts of awesome!

Total weight gain: Up 17 pounds as of my appointment last week, which I feel really good about. If I continue to gain a pound a week, which I have been for the past few months, I will be right around 25 pounds at week 40, which my doctor says is great! From now on I will be going to visit my OB every 2 weeks so we will have a more frequently updated number.

How big is baby? Baby is around 3.75 pounds this week – about the size of a large jicama – and is taking up more space in my belly! Word on the street {via my iPhone app} is that while I am now gaining 1 pound a week, roughly half of that is going right to the baby. Wow!

Maternity clothes: I was doing so good not buying anything maternity until I went shopping with my mom this week! Oops! I was still pretty good and picked up this little number, on sale – it will be cute to wear over the next few weeks for sure and I love the burgundy/pink color combination in stripes! I also picked up some nursing bras and nursing tanks that I am obsessed with, along with this nursing wrap {in oatmeal!}. So crazy that I have been shopping for maternity clothes for the past few months and now that’s coming to and end and it’s time for the  nursing gear! Any other nursing must-have’s you might suggest I pick up? I feel like I don’t know what else I will need!

Sleep: Sleeping a bit better this week, I think due to the meds my OB gave me for my heartburn. Not getting up as early as I have been, but still not able to sleep in. And lots of potty breaks every night!

Best moment this week: My baby shower in Virginia! I had such a good time visiting with my family and friends and celebrating the upcoming birth of our little guy. Such a special time to share with those I love! Plus thanks to everyone’s amazing generosity, we got lots of goodies off our registry – I can’t wait to take everything back to Philadelphia & start setting everything up in his room!

Movement: Crazy movement this week – baby has a new trick of flinging a limb – not sure if its a arm or leg or what – across the top of my ribs. It’s so crazy to watch and even makes me jump from time to time! After my doctor’s appointment this past week she told me the baby is positioned horizontally across my belly, head on the left, legs and butt on the right – it’s been so fun to watch him move all week long!

Food cravings: I’ll take a Five Guys Little Cheeseburger with lettuce, grilled onions, pickles, ketchup & mustard please. Hold the fries. With a chocolate shake.

Food aversions: Chicken. And at this point I have very strong opinions of what I like & what I don’t like. I either want it, or I don’t – there is no in between.

What I Miss: I think this week I will miss red wine with my Thanksgiving dinner.

What I’m looking forward to: Spending Thanksgiving with my family down in Virginia this week. It’s so crazy that this will be the last time I am down here without a baby! I’m trying to get lots of things done & checked off my list with my mom and soak up as much time with family and friends that I can!

Milestone: Our glider/ottoman arrived this week, which may very well be the final furniture piece to our nursery puzzle – at last the final big  piece. I may still be in the market for a ladder shelf of sorts but for the most part it should all be set up within the next week or so. Now we get to start looking at pictures/images for the wall & start to add the finishing touches!

I’m a year behind you, but I’m having some of the same experiences and thoughts in my 32nd week, too. Let’s be honest though, having Thanksgiving while being pregnant is/is going to be amazing! 🙂
