Back On My Feet 5 Miler Giveaway

Up for grabs today is a race bib for the Back on My Feet 5 Miler in Philadelphia which is going to be held on Saturday, March 29th at 8:00 AM.

 side note, I LOVE a good Saturday race, there aren’t enough of them!

Back on my Feet is a national for-purpose organization that uses running to help those experiencing homelessness change the way they see themselves so they can make a real change in their lives that results in employment and independent living. Aside from this organization being all sorts of awesome and for a great cause,this race is the perfect run for anyone who is planning on running Broad Street this year.

I was so excited when the folks at BOMF contacted me regarding this giveaway because I love the cause and I really love a good, solid 5 mile race – I’ve actually only ever run one other 5 mile race before, so I’d love to add some more to my running  race bib collection!  I also just got cleared for exercising at my postpartum appointment last week, so I am crossing my fingers I can build up my running a bit to run this race myself – It’s the perfect excuse to get out there and get my running milage up again!

Not to mention that the BOMF 5 miler course looks like it’s going to be a good one – I am very familiar with running the Kelly Drive/ MLK Drive route, but it’s been a while since I’ve been out there and I’m hoping it will warm up a bit at the end of the month & some signs of Spring will be popping out too!

    I was sick last spring/summer and missed Broad Street and all the other races I signed up for. I got in to Broad Street again, and I’m trying to get my running fitness back to where it was, so that’s definitely my one major goal for the year!

    I just discovered your blog a few days ago and I’m so glad I did! I am doing the Broad Street Run this year as my first run EVER. Kind of a big step, but I’ve been training lots and haven’t looked back. My fitness goal this year was just to do more. I don’t find much success in saying I’ll go to the gym 3x/week because I just set myself up to fail. Even if I made it 3x/week most weeks, the weeks that I don’t I’d perceive as a failure. So “doing more,” has worked and often times I’m at the gym 4-5 times a week (thanks to Broad St.)!

    This sounds like a fun race. I am not doing broad street this year so it would be great to run this!

    I love 5 milers as well! My running goals for this year include running broad street, the love run 1/2, and eventually a full marathon this fall!

    Fitness goals this year include: Looking to make exercise a lifestyle habit rather than just doing it here and there. Signed up to run broad street for the first time this year! Would love to run this race as a warm up for BR! Also looking to incorporate some yoga into my routine…

    Run broad street 6 months after having our new baby boy in November! This would be the ideal training race.
    Return to yoga more consistently and a sprint tri this summer!

    My fitness goal is to run a sub 2 hour half marathon. This race would be a great start!
