When Your Baby is Sick

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Little Remedies. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

I’ve been pretty lucky as a new mom.

{knock on wood!}

My little man is adorable {no, I’m not biased}, happy {most of the time} and for the past 9 and 1/2 months he has been pretty healthy {#blessed}. I’m happy to report that for the majority of our time together so far, little Brooks has been enjoying an apple a day to keep the doctor away {not literally, I wish he would eat more apples!}

sick baby

I think Brooks‘ health has been so good in large part due to the fact that we are still nursing and he isn’t in daycare. I know how lucky I am that we have had a positive nursing experience {with only a few hiccups} and that I get to stay at home with my little guy.

While he has managed to be a happy & healthy little man, Brooks has had a cold or two – and nothing is worse than seeing your little one not feel well. He is actually fighting a case of the runny nose /sniffles right now as I type this. I blame it on the change of seasons, because I suffer from the same issues.

Seeing your baby sick with the cold is so sad. I’m sure my heart will always break whenever my child is sick but I think its worse when they are so little because they can’t tell you whats wrong and what they need. The few times Brooks has been a little under the weather we make sure a few things are on hand:

  1. Extra snuggles – because, duh.
  2. Cheerios – this is a recent thing but he loves them!
  3. Lots of H20 – got to stay hydrated
  4. Brooks’ beloved wubanub
  5. Little Remedies

LittleRemediesBecause Brooks is still such a little one, I am careful about the medicine I choose for him when he does need a little something  to help him feel better. I recently had the opportunity work with the Little Remedies brand for this blog post, but honestly I have been reaching for their products on the shelf long before that! The Little Remedies line of products helps relieve fevers and cold and flu symptoms in infants and children (ages 0-11) – with the fewest ingredients possible — no artificial flavors, artificial colors or alcohol.Saline

I have used the Little Remedies saline spray ever since he was a tiny little thing when he gets the occasional stuffy nose, because I use saline spray {for adults!} myself & it really does help! As he’s gotten older it’s a little more difficult to give him but it really does make a difference. We have also been a huge fan of the Little Remedies gripe water whenever he is a little gassy or having other tummy related issues {i’ll spare you the details here} – both these products have been in my diaper bag and in our {baby} medicine cabinet before little man even graced us with his presence on this earth!little remedies

A little more about the brand -> Little Remedies was created by a father who was tired of searching for a product to give his kids that was effective and made with ingredients he could feel good about. Little Remedies believes “less is more” and strives to make sure that each of its products contains just what is needed for fast, safe and effective relief – nothing more -> all of which is super important to me as a new mom.Tummys and Noses

As a part of this blog program I also received the Little Remedies Honey Cough Syrup, which we have yet to use because it’s for ages 12 months + but I will definitely keep it on hand for when he’s a little older!

    We used the little remedies saline up until about a month ago and then switched to the boogie mist. Horrible name not the spray nozzle is so much easier to get into Garrity’s nose now that she’s older and knows what’s going on.

    I’m a hugh fan of natural products and know the Little Remedies Line well. Saline is a life saver for babies and adults when under the weather! Hope Brooks feels better soon!
