Summer Lovin’

It’s weird to think that this is my last summer with just Brooks.

It’s also crazy to think that we’ve only had two summers together – feels like he’s been a part of me for so much longer than just 16 months. I think that’s why I’ve been really trying to live it up this summer with my little man {while also trying not to overdo it with my now 7 month pregnant belly!}

Each day, I find myself thinking about the fact that its only going to be just the two of us {not counting Charles or Jackson!} for only a short while longer. I’m sort of having a hard time wrapping my mind around that. Brooks is such a sweet little guy. He has the best personality and is at such a fun age, it’s strange for me to think that there is going to be another little man coming into our lives very soon.

That’s another reason why I’m really trying to soak up as much mama + babe time with my first little man this summer. We are currently at the beach with my parents, in Bethany, Delaware {obvi, I’ve been blowing up Instagram all week} – any excuse to get down here and spend time with the grandparents + enjoy the beach, we are ALL OVER IT!

baby and bump

This has been such a fun summer to explore everything with Brooks, or better yet, watch him explore. Last summer he could barely crawl but now he is mobile and loving every second running around the beach, hitting up the parks, taking a dip in the pool or frequenting some of our favorite spots in Philly.

And our plans this summer are to continue to do all those things as much as we can!

I know Brooks is going to LOVE having a little brother. They are totally going to be best friends, and hopefully twins {!!!} and I think he is still going to be young enough where it won’t be as drastic as a change for him as it would have been if he were older and more able to understand.

If you have any tips to share as to how you lived it up with your first baby before a little sibling came along, I’d love to hear it! How did you make their last few months as the “only child” special?

And how are YOU living it up this summer?

I was inspired to reminisce about our summer plans because of how perfectly the Discover It Miles credit card fits into our travel planning. As an introductory offer, Discover it Miles cardmembers will now receive double the amount of miles they’ve earned at the end of their first year – with no spending cap. That gives travelers using the Discover it Miles Card the opportunity to determine for themselves the amount of bonus miles they receive in that first year.=

Discover it Miles® card features include: No annual fee / Fly any airline any time. Just buy a ticket and use Miles to credit your statement / 1.5x miles for every dollar spent on purchases / An annual credit up to $30 for in-flight Wi-Fi charges / No foreign transaction fees / Overnight shipping of a replacement card to any U.S. street address upon request / A $0 fraud liability guarantee where you are never responsible for unauthorized purchases on your Discover card. Discover it Miles cardmembers can redeem miles at any amount for cash, or as a statement credit toward their travel purchases, including commercial airline tickets, hotel rooms, car rentals, commuter transportation and taxicabs.

    Your feelings about Brooks are totally normal – just enjoy that Sweet Angel as much as you can until his little brother comes along – and plan on spending some quality time once a week, just with him, after his little brother arrives.
    You’ll adjust to having two little guys around in no time!

    I think you enjoying every single day with Brooks & the belly is exactly the way you can celebrate this special time with just him:) As a fellow Philly momma with 2 under 3 Im surprised I never run into you anywhere because I feel like we hit all of the same “hangs” as you!! Enjoy every day, although no doubt you will be out and about just days after #2 arrives…enjoy every single second!!!
