9 Months Pregnant with Baby #2

Wish me luck on our Labor Day!  For more details check out yesterdays post!

And for a look back at my pregnancy posts check out Baby Bump #1 and Baby Bump #2

36 - 39

How far along am I: 39 weeks + ready to go!

How I’m feeling: This has been the hardest month. I’ve been in so much pain, contractions + back pain constantly {but not labor pains!} It’s been rough. It’s also been super hot and the bigger I’ve gotten, obviously the harder it is to do certain things – including sleep! I have also been getting really swollen in my feet and hands and some varicose veins from pregnancy have been an issue for me as well. This last month has been really kicking my booty!

Total weight gain: 23 lbs – just about what I gained with Brooks – I feel pretty good about that!

How big is baby: Little man is as big as a mini-watermelon!  The longer he stays in there he is continuing to build a layer of fat to help control body temperature after birth, also his digestive system is now capable of digesting liquid foods and baby is also now peeing at regular intervals {wierd!}

Maternity clothes: So sick of them – I feel like I’m wearing the same thing over and over again because not much fits at this point.  Can’t wait to get in regular clothes again! Side Note: Not looking forward to wearing nursing tanks for now until eternity again either. Oye.

Stretch marks: Sadly, yes. I am lucky to say that I am pretty much all belly during this pregnancy {and the last one too} but for some reason, I am sticking out straight like I have a watermelon under my shirt. My belly button has been flattened for weeks. I can’t wait to see my stomach again!

OnSleep: The last month of pregnancy is not made for catching up on sleep. I am up at least 3 times a night to pee or even and more times than that I find myself up and rolling around trying to get comfortable. Looking forward to being able to sleep on my belly again for sure.

Baby Movement: Little man doesn’t have much room in there these days to move at all, but when he does, it’s a limb straight out and it is pretty painful. He’s a strong little bugger in there, I can feel it. Some of his movements push directly down on my pelvis and others wrap around to my spine, so we are past the cherishing each movement at this point because most of them have me stopping what I am doing to catch my breath!

Food cravings: Not much of an appetite these days. The heartburn went through a week or two where it was really bad that I was barely able to eat anything. It’s a bit more under control now but between that and the heat I don’t eat much or want much. When I do wait too long to eat I get nauseous and it happens fast. But then when I do want to eat I can never eat as much as I want. My stomach doesn’t have room with this little man taking up residence!

Food aversions: Nothing specific.

Belly button in or out: Wayyyyyyy out.

What I miss:  Sleeping comfortably.

Best moment this Month: Just soaking up as much time with Brooks as a only child as possible. Trying to give him lots of extra love these days because he’s going to have a bit of a shocker come next week. I actually think he’s too young to know what’s going on and really understand, but he’s still going to have a tough time sharing the spotlight.

What I’m looking forward to: Meeting my new little guy! I can’t wait to see what he looks like, what color hair + eyes he has and how big he is. Just looking forward to holding him in my arms {sort of wish we could skip the whole labor + delivery drama!}

Milestone: Surviving {what felt like} the hottest summer EVER while 9 months pregnant
