1 + 2 Months with Graham

one month

So in the throws of going to two under two when Graham joined our little family, I got a little behind on my monthly posts. I still need to catch you up on the past two months with Brooks AND Graham. It’s a little bit easier with Brooks but with Graham, he has changed so much in the past eight weeks. Luckily I have lots of pictures to look back on, but I love sharing my monthly updates of the boys with you so I wanted to keep that going! Just have to play a little bit of catch-up this month! I will say it has been awesome looking back at these old posts and being able to compare Brooks and Graham! Lots of similarities, it’s so fun to see!

Growth – Seriously, little man has changed so much in the past two months, and he has gotten so big in the past 4 weeks alone! I feel like the first month he felt so tiny, but now, even though he’s still a little one, he’s much more solid! At his one month appointment Graham weighed in at 10 lbs. 13 oz., 21.75 inches long and 14.75 inches for his head. All in the 50th percentile just like Brooks was at his age. We will find out his two month update tomorrow, and I’ll be sure to update!

Feeding – I gave a little nursing update the other day {on Nursing Baby #2} but I’m happy to report that the past two months have been pretty great with breastfeeding. We aren’t on any real schedule, I feed him when he’s hungry and for the most part, he let’s me know when that is.  Unlike with Brooks, I don’t keep track of when I feed Graham or for how long, I just do it, and that’s been working out for us. He sometimes wants to feed every hour and occasionally gives me 3,4 and even 5 hours in between. Still a little bit all over the place!

Sleeping – Sleep has been so different with baby #2, mainly because I have zero expectations. He was feeding more frequently the first month, because he was growing so much, so that was up every 2 hours at night, but now he has a last feed around 7:30-8:00pm and goes down until 12:30-1:00am which has been a nice little stretch. Then its up every 2-3 but we both fall asleep right after, so it’s been ok. Like his brother at this age,  Graham is a loud sleeper and makes crazy noises during the night that can keep me up. He is still in his pack & play next to my side of the bed and will likely be there for another 2 months, or until he sleeps longer through the night. It makes it easy for nighttime feedings but I have been trying to put him in his crib during daytime naps when I can.

Clothes – I’m not sure if Graham is just bigger than Brooks or if all of Brooks’ old clothes really shrunk from all the wash and wear but I feel like Graham is getting bigger a little faster. He’s wearing 3 months & 3-6 month clothes – and pretty much has been the past month. I feel like he’s grown out of so many clothes already, so fast! We have a box of clothes under the bed that none of my boys fit in anymore, it’s so crazy!san fran

Like any baby at this age, he pretty much just eats, sleeps & poops. Not much else going on at 8 weeks old. He did have a few weeks of rough gas, which made him a little irritable, but as he’s started to wake up a bit more, he’s starting to enjoy watching the world go by a bit. Graham enjoys  looking at ceiling fans, lights, he enjoys bath time, music and being worn. Graham loves to fall asleep while being worn in any carrier.

He’s also done so much in the past 8 weeks. We’ve been to all of our favorite museums, he’s been on a train ride, went to a wedding, celebrated Halloween – with keeping Brooks entertained we are always out and about, which is a big change from the first 2 months with Brooks, which was also in the dead of winter. We’ve really been trying to soak up these beautiful Fall days – before it gets too cold to really be outside.

All in all it has been a great 8 weeks with my second son. It’s been so fun to watch him grow and even more fun to get little glimpses of what he and Brooks will be like together! Having two under two definitely has it’s challenges, but I’m looking forward to when the two of them can really play, laugh and grow together. I’m hoping they will be best friends, and possibly that Graham will be a little mini-me to Brooks! Ha! I’d love them to be little twins!

I know it’s been a whirlwind these last 2 months for you, but it has gone by way too fast for Gaga too! Graham is just precious and Brooks has accepted his little brother with open arms, Brooks is totally an amazing child. I love those two boys so much! Thanks for making my grandmother experience so amazing – it’s awesome with those two special boys!
