VTech VM343 Digital Video Baby Monitor

Just like I’ve always been the sort of person to have to know the sex of our little ones when I was pregnant – hello, I needed to buy clothes and decorate the nursery! I am also the kind of person who LOVES being able to see my littles ones on a screen when they are sleeping, or napping or just playing in the crib!

I get why some people are anti-video monitor – especially during the times when I am trying to get my littles to learn to put themselves to sleep. Sometimes you just need to turn the monitor off and let them work it out themselves. And for the most part, if one of the boys needs me, I’ll be able to hear them! Ha! BUT for me, I love being able to see what’s going on in Brooks + Grahams rooms at all times.

I was so excited when I had the opportunity to test out the new VTech’s Safe&Sound® VM343 Expandable Digital Video Baby Monitor with Pan & Tilt Camera and Automatic Night Vision because our previous monitor had been on the fritz and we needed an upgrade!

It was sort of perfect timing because the day we installed the new VTech VM343, it’s like Graham knew we had a better eye on him, because he totally did the back to front roll while sleeping for the first time! Ofcourse! He had been rolling around for a little while but this was the first time he did it during bedtime! So it was a combination of being awesome and sort of crazy because it was so nice to be able to see him turn himself over, but then I’m a bit of a nervous wreck because I want to make sure he’s ok on his tummy!

I know the word on the street is that if they can get themselves in that position, they should be ok and be able to get themselves out, but you know in the beginning, arms and limbs get stuck and it’s hard not to want to keep an extra eye on them, especially when you can!

BUT the story ends well, Graham and I both had a great night sleep that night. He and I both love sleeping on our belly! Ha! So him being able to get in that position on his own has sort of been awesome because we both end up with better sleeps. And having the new VTech VM343 was great because I could keep a extra close eye on him to make sure he was safe and sound!

It’s been awesome to be able to witness those special little moments even when you might not be in the same room or you’re busy doing things around the house. Thats why I love having a video monitor – especially with two littles!

Now can we take a second to talk about the monitor? I personally didn’t even know VTech made them, so I was excited to see one and try one out for myself. And after testing it out for a few weeks, I can honestly say this thing is amazing! The camera’s full-color, high-resolution video equipped with night vision on a large 4.3-inch LCD screen is incredible. The screen is as big as my iPhone 6 and SO crystal clear, I’ve never seen anything like it!

Some other special features the VTech VM343 comes with is the remote pan and tilt camera featuring 2x zoom. The VM343 pans up to 270 degrees side-to-side and tilts as many as 120 degrees up and down. The monitor can expand up to four cameras and you can also choose from multiple viewing options, including single view (one camera only), split-screen viewing (all paired cameras at once) and patrol mode (single view that transitions to a different camera every seven seconds) – how cool is that?

We don’t live in a crazy large house at the moment, since we live in the city, but I also love the feature that the monitor comes standard with up to 1,000 feet of range making it easier than ever to stay connected to your baby from any room in the house – even from outside – so it’s easy to go about your day.

night night

Now it’s your turn to share – are you a baby video monitor person or not?

That monitor is truly amazing as I have witnessed it myself! Every parent should own one of these! Wish they had this kind of technology when I was a mom 31 years ago!
