To Get Caught Up: 1+2 Months With Baby Graham / 3+ 4 Months with Baby Graham

Growth – Little man is not so little anymore! We had his 6 month appointment last week and Graham is weighing in at 17 lbs! He is SOLID! Ha! He’s also 27.25 inches long – he’s in the 50th percentile for weight and height for his age, just like his big brother! I feel like he’s gotten so big in the past two months – it’s so crazy to be able to look back at all his pictures and see how much he changes each week!

I’m also happy to report that his eye color is set, as our doctor told me at our appointment. They are this gorgeous blue/grey – Charles and I both have brown eyes, so does Brooks – so this was a surprise! Also still funny that Brooks and it’s looking like Graham too, are little blonde babies – since Charles and I are both brown haired! Ha!

Nursing – Still going strong with nursing! Graham usually nurses around 5-6 times a day, which is great. I don’t have him on any sort of set schedule at this point like I did with Brooks at this age – in terms of nursing + napping – because our schedule is always all over the place. But I’m happy with how everything is going with baby #2 – while we don’t have a schedule we have a bit of a routine and it works for us! We had a little bit of a rough patch 2 weeks ago – maybe a growth spurt? – where Graham wanted to nurse around the clock, all the time. I was starting to have some pain and I didn’t want to go down the path I did with Brooks where it was constant pain, but luckily that only lasted a few days and I feel better.

I’m also pumping most days – usually 6+ oz. from one side to add to my freezer stash. We are going on a kid-free vacation next month so I’ve been storing up for Graham to use while we are away!

Feeding – Graham is officially on solid food – we started a while ago and really haven’t looked back. He was HUNGRY and loves to eat + explore food. I’ve found that when he has a good dinner, he sleeps better. So I’ve been making sure he gets some good dinner foods to eat every night – if getting your baby to sleep through the night isn’t motivation to feed them, I don’t know what is!

He really gets little bits of whatever we are eating. He loves bananas, yogurt, any carbs, blood oranges, chicken, soup – whatever we are having, unless it’s spicy, I give him little bits, usually put them on his highchair and he’s slowly mastering the art of feeding himself. Like I said, he loves to eat, so when I put food in front of him, he wants to get it in his mouth – bad! Ha!

Sleeping – Still in a good place with sleeping – we had a week where we had some nighttime wake ups but for the most time, he goes down between 6:30-7:30pm {depends on the day} and he’s usually out until 6:30-7:30am the next day. We have an occasional evening where he gets up and fusses around 10 or so, but usually Charles can rock him a bit and he goes back down. Can’t complain about sleeps at all!

Naps – While we are in a good place with sleeping through the night, naps are a little more on the crazy end. I think getting Graham in more of a schedule would help a lot with this, but it’s just hard with Brooks’ schedule – if we put G on more of a set schedule, we would never leave the house! Graham usually naps 2-3 times a day, but the time is a little all over the place. He normally takes a nap between 9/10 am and then another one around 2 or so – they vary in length.

Development – We are working on sounds with Graham to get him chatting a bit more. He loves to laugh, giggle and watch his big brothers every move. He can roll from back to front, front to back and is all over the place in the crib at night. You never know where he will end up! We are working on sitting up too – he can do a tripod sit for a little, but we need to strengthen up those muscles a bit. I’m looking forward to when he can sit up on his own!

Clothes – I need to go through all B + G’s clothes so bad. They are at total opposite ends of the seasons so I’m finding some big gaps in what Brooks had and what G can actually wear with the appropriate weather. Graham is currently wearing 6-12 month clothes, but more 9-12 month things, especially pants, fit best.

Brothers – These two are going to be trouble. Seriously. But watching them interact and play is the best. Brooks loves Graham so much – he’s always asking about him, talking to him, dancing for him. He always brings him toys, loves to hold his hand

And did I mention they are twins?! Check out this picture of G on the left and B on the right in the same hat! Craziness, right?!

Loves – Graham loves stroller rides with his brother, being in the carrier, going to the aquarium and seeing the lights + colors of the tanks. He loves being outside and if he’s fussing, the second I step outside, he stops. He loves food and music too! He’s a pretty happy baby!

He is so cute and getting so big!! I recall you saying in an earlier post that you weren’t stressing with pumping or occasionally giving formula this time around but I was curious to see you are pumping again, just wondering if you changed your mind on that?

Yes! Totally pumping pretty much everyday now! When G sleeps through the night I wake up and need to pump or I will explode. Plus we have an upcoming vacation I’m saving up for! Am doing a post soon on all my pumping – so be on the lookout for it! Also, he won’t take formula anymore either! Ha!
